I saw 'geological column' mentioned.  This is a topsy turvy mix of sediments occurring during and after the flood. It proves NOTHING.

Bad assumption.   Here's a YE creationist explaining why the geologic column and the fossils in it, is such a problem for creationists:

At this point in time, the largest challenge from the stratomorphic intermediate record appears to this author to come from the fossil record of the whales. There is a strong stratigraphic series of archaeocete genera claimed by Gingerich60 (Ambulocetus, Rhodocetus, and Prozeuglodon [or the similar-aged Basilosaurus]61) followed on the one hand by modern mysticetes,62 and on the other hand by the family Squalodontidae and then modern odontocetes.63 That same series is also a morphological series: Ambulocetus with the largest hind legs;64-66 Rhodocetus with hindlegs one- third smaller;67 Prozeuglodon with 6 inch hindlegs;68 and the remaining whales with virtually no to no hind legs:
toothed mysticetes before non-toothed baleen whales;69 the squalodontid odontocetes with telescoped skull but triangular teeth;70 and the modern odontocetes with telescoped skulls and conical teeth. This series of fossils is thus a very powerful stratomorphic series. Because the land mammal-to-whale
transition (theorized by macroevolutionary theory and evidenced by the fossil record) is a land-to-sea transition, the relative order of land mammals, archaeocetes, and modern whales is not explainable in the conventional Flood geology method (transgressing Flood waters). Furthermore, whale fossils are only known in Cenozoic (and thus post-Flood) sediments.71 This seems to run counter to the intuitive
expectation that the whales should have been found in or even throughout Flood sediments. At present creation theory has no good explanation for the fossil record of whales.

It's human mind which limits God.

Humans have to assume that,

1) Humans understand time

But in reality no human actually know the nature of what time itself is. Just as Einstein once put, time is not a stable physics unit but instead SPEED is. In both Relativity and Quantum Physics TIME is never a stable physics unit. We take for granted that time is evenly progressive forward, but our physics simply disagrees.

We don't actually understand how time behaves. Our assumption that time being stably and evenly advancing forward is based on our speculation on our current environment, not the environment how earth and our universe began.

2) Earth was created in our universe (in terms of time and space)

This is yet another huge assumption. Nowhere in the Bible says that earth was created in our space/universe. More likely, earth was created else where which is a 'void'. My theory is, earth was created else where, outside of our space, and was 'move' into our space on Day 4. That's why sun and stars only appear on Day 4. Before Day 4, earth is not inside our space but in an 'adjacent' space where the light source is artificial (i.e., not necessarily from a sun). Earth was created in an empty space which was a void, till forests were formed. Only then it was moved into our space.

All our today's dating method is based on the decay of isotops. Now the question is how isotops behave if earth is moved in and out of our space? There's no physics on this. The Bible is a witness about what happened on earth after (but not before) it is moved to our space.

3) Earth stays in its current position all the time (in terms of time and space)

Even after being moved into our space/universe, it by no means says that God didn't touch it ever since. In contrary, for Israel to steal time to win a war, God 'made the sun stands still'. No one know what God did in terms of human physics. Possibly God manipulated time and space for the effect of the 'frozen time'. If so, again there's no physics on how the isotops should behave during this time and space manipulation.

In a nutshell, with our limited human mind we assumed too much and too fast to build up our theory on what the Bible would like to say.

The Mesozoic era ended 66 million years ago.  There have been no more dinosaurs since then.  Luke's genealogy of Jesus (which differs from the one in Matthew) goes from Adam to Jesus.  Add 2,000 years and you get the biblical age of the earth.

At this point some believers may need to decide what biblical inerrancy means to them.  On one extreme you have Timothy Paul Jones arguing in Misquoting Truth that it means the broad picture general idea stuff of the Bible is correct while at the other extreme you have some (hopefully a very small minority) who would argue that characters in the Bible were speaking the exact English words found in the KJV.
