Here in Ohio the worst winters were in 1977 and 1978 whe 4 Times it got to -20.   Ohio river was frozen over and that is one BIG river!     I learned a valuable lesson in 1995 when for the first time ever it got down to -30.I learned that -30 didn’t really feel that much different than -20. Lol

The high today in Atlanta, Georgia near where I live was in the twenties and in Anchorage, Alaska it was 40 degrees.  The experts say that the polar vortex or the jet stream that circles the north pole has been dropping south in the winter months into the lower 48 states east of the rocky mountains and this phenomena is caused by global warming.

It is summer there, and here too... And 30°C at midnight is... Uncomfortable, you will definitely need an AC or a fan.

I think the weather changes are from the things happening on/in the Sun.   The Jet Stream not being normal is causing the temperatures in Alaska to be higher than normal and the Jet is bringing down all this cold.   The cold is actually normal, just in the wrong place.

Pretty much the same here...several days of snow and ice, temps below zero and highs some days barely topping 20 degrees. We usually do get snow in winter but not temps that never rise above freezing for over a week at a time. I don't mind the cold as long as I have a warm place to sleep. My heart goes out to those who live on the streets.

Amen to that, Abby!  We even have a crisis in sheltereng the homeless here in Houston right now.  A person could die out there since it's in the 20s at night lately.

Well, finally a little relief in sight! The other night it was suppose to get down to +2, but it dropped down to -2. The set of water pipes that go from the heated basement to the kitchen faucet through the dirt crawl space froze.

OH NO! Well, that's nothing when you consider those poor souls living on the streets, and those that can't afford their heating bills and the utility is shut off or they run out of propane.

I can't believe that Texas is going into the fourth week of cold weather!  I woke up to snow and ice in my front yard!  How's the weather where the rest of you are?   No work today here and flights are cancelled............
