Unfailing Presence

Will The " Holy Place " Really Be Holy ?

Recommended Posts

When Jesus speaks of " holy place " during the tribulation , is He saying there will once again actually be the physical presence of God with the Jews in the holy of holies as there was in Solomon's Temple when the high priest entered in once a year ?

The power of the physical presence being  so Almighty that a rope had to be attached to the high priest when he entered , should he screw up and be struck dead his body could be retrieved without further loss of life .

Or is Jesus implying that this will be  a place that will be called  " holy " by the Jews of the tribulation in their mistaken belief , but in actuality  having no physical presence of God ?

" When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet                                                                                                                                                                           stand in the HOLY PLACE . "        ( Matthew 24 : 15 )

Most likely [Revelation 11:2] .... there will be no temple of the Lord's on the mount during the coming tribulation period

His next temple will be built after the tribulation period for His millennial rule upon the earth [Ezekiel 40]

Then with , " no temple " , where is this " holy place "   Jesus prophesizes going to be for the abomination of desolation to happen ?

The Holy Place that none may enter onto is the area to the left of the Dome. The rabbis think that this is where a booth might be erected and a sacrifice made. Only needs one. Only needs a few days. Nothing says in the scripts that is has be there before the tribulation begins.

This is if the pig thing in ad 70 was not what was meant. It is still hotly debated.

So  is Jesus implying that this holy place " left of the Dome "  will have the same physical presence of God during the tribulation , as it did in Solomon's day ,  or is Jesus saying the people will consider it to have the physical presence of God , without God's presence really being there ?

I myself have not completely made up my mind on this issue and I am interested in other opinions  .

There is an Ezekiel temple it seems in the millennium. A place where the Sabbath is to be kept too.

I am also unsure of a complete Solomon type temple in Jerusalem, but there is an area that is prohibited by the rabbinical order that they are unsure of themselves. But it is possibly a place that the the statement, "stands where he should not" might apply to the anti-Christ.

Also there is mention of Babylon - Turkey. So that is yet another question to answer.

"Then with , " no temple " , where is this " holy place "   Jesus prophesizes going to be for the abomination of desolation to happen ? "

Notice that the "place" of the sanctuary is given in Matthew 24:15 [whoso readeth, let him understand]

The same "place" is indicated [Daniel 8:11]

Also note that Revelation 11:2 is the same .... without the temple

Matthew

24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy "place", (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

24:16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

24:17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:

24:18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.

24:19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!

24:20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:

24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Daniel

8:9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.

8:10 And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them.

8:11 Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the "place" of the sanctuary was cast down.

8:12 And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered.

8:13 Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?

8:14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.

Jesus mentions "Judea " in the same breath . This leads me to believe He is definitely speaking of a tribulation period " holy place " in Jerusalem  .

OK. I understand you. However, He did speak 2000 years ago. To us today we have to determine if anything He said has already come to pass.

Remember how they never recognized Yeshua when he came. I think some prophesy is somewhat hidden for many different reasons. What is most important is that whatever happens and whenever it does, it will be obvious enough that we can witness to the unsaved (or stubborn) that hey, look what it says here, is this not what we see happening even as we speak?

Corrie Ten Boom was so upset that when she went to China and ministered to them, she also taught the pre-trib rapture. She was beside herself with sorrow because the people there thought they would be whisked away - instead much persecution and death followed and many left the faith due to this.

We can be sure that He is placing this particular " holy place " in the context of tribulation  ,  " as was not since the beginning of the world to this time , no , nor ever shall be "                                                                                                                                                                                                             ( Matthew 24 : 21 )

So I would definitely say no this has not already come to pass .
