A friend of mine is having a hard time and her faith is at an all time low. I am worried now she is going to make a decision that would be detrimental to both her and her son in the long run.

At the beginning of last year she told me about a dream she had where she got married to a tall dark 'person' but she couldn't see his face. Two months later her ten year old son started 'acting' up and having these demonic episodes where he would have this immense strength and it would take more than one person to hold him down. He was prayed for and at the end of last year everything was back to normal.

At the beginning of this year she had the same dream. But it went a little further she dreamt she was at home wearing a wedding ring and doing chores waiting for her 'husband' to come home. Two days later her son started having the same demonic episodes...where he would shout that he loves Satan.

Now I believe that these dreams are related to her son's behaviour. But what is even more disheartening is that we have another colleague that is encouraging her to seek 'help' from another source which would be contrary to God. And she is seriously considering it. At one point last year she had planned to go but her car broke down and wouldn't move.

I also believe that the enemy is trying to wear her down and get her to go in that direction so he can trap her son further.

I have talked to her and told her if she goes in that direction she is showing God that she doesn't trust Him to work it out for her. I have prayed for her and her son but her faith level is very low.

What else do I do or what else can I do?

We can not give dreams very much importance or power. Dreams are just dreams and we should not interpret them as something that will happen in our lives. Maybe her son's behavior has something else to do other than her dreams. She should take him to her pediatrician. We have to give everything to God and allow Him to have control. We should not try to have our own control over life. She needs to pray about all of this and ask God for guidance and direction.

I believe that some dreams are important and we get them so that we know the direction in which we ought to pray. If it is something bad then we pray against it so that it does not manifest in the natural. If it is something good we pray it through.

She has explored other options such as counselling but to see him in one of his episodes where his eyes are rolled back in his head is something else..it is like it's a different person and after he has no recollection of what took place.

Right now she is wavering in faith. His father is not a believer and they are not together anymore but he does spend time with him and they travel back and forth. We live in the Caribbean and he lives in the US.

I do agree that some door is opened.

She is a teacher and he goes to the school that she teaches at.

His episodes only happen at school. The other kids don't want to play with him cause they are scared and I understand her frustration. He is her only child and she monitors everything he looks at.

I am not too sure about his father's familial background though.

Hi DOJCI,

Pleased to meet you. You are a good friend who is concerned for her friend`s welfare. My thoughts are, that often by fear we try to control situations or people whereas we really can`t. People will do what they want and if your friend is a believer then she may be in for a strong lesson if she follows that path. Lessons are part of life as we are fallen, selfish, fearful people. I would just encourage you to keep praying for her and that this wrong path is exposed to your friend, either before, during or after she goes.

BTW fear is not of God and going through difficulties teaches us many things. So...trust God...even amid the situation, in the fire, so to speak.

Marilyn.

Thank you Marilyn..btw my mom's name is Marilyn also.

She is a good friend also. And her son usually is most helpful kid you could find. I just don't want her to make a decision that may provide a temporary fix and in the long run problems are triple fold.

A kingdom divided by itself cannot stand. A stronger demon to 'get rid of' the weaker one. Essentially that is what the temporary fix is about. How then can God move on her behalf if she is doubting His power and ability by going elsewhere?

Don't know what else to say to her or what else I can say to her. I do lift her up in prayer and I am glad though that she is talking to me about what she is thinking so I can at least talk her out of it. But for how long?

Shalom,

Dear DOJCI,

Please, consider the Confession for your friend properly witnessed by you or good Pastor. That helps to root out the evil.

Please, pray for the kid yourself with the laying on of hands or else, seek the help of experienced Christian Minister for the same.

Are there any Local Church and Small Group(s) for Communion of Saints where you live? Group Prayer is good in that case.

Stay on with your friend. Ask her to fast on worldly media and cleanse her home from any evil publications. What about Bible Study together?

Avoid any ungodly advises & "help" from outside the Church.

Keep Faith. I pray for you.

Igor

Oh how nice, your mum having the same name. What the Lord does by His Holy Spirit, in all our lives is `expose` `convict` and you can pray along those lines, for you would be certainly in God`s will asking for that. God doesn`t leave someone just because they are weak in the faith, doubting etc. It is through these trials and difficulties and problems that we learn what is of God and what is not. So continue to be her friend but not `preaching` at her or telling her `you have to do this and that.` That will only cause rebellion to rise in her heart. We don`t like to be told what to do.

If she asks then say what you think and leave it at that, I believe, for it is her journey in the Lord and she needs to find out the nasty result of going the wrong way. God will watch over her and expose and convict and she will, I believe, turn around a much chastised person, having learnt from hard experience.

all the best, Marilyn.

Hi Igor,

She has been to other churches because her pastor doesn't really believe in this kind of stuff...the son has been prayed for by the laying on of hands on numerous occasions. Members of other churches have gone into the school and prayed and anointed with oil.

I have invited her to Bible study..she came one time and never came back. I mean she is going to her own church but she has said she's been questioning her growth there. I know persons are attracted to the 'big' churches that are packed out and I believe for that reason she hasn't left because it is comfortable to her.

I told her that the enemy has presented her with this 'easy' option and he knows that she is considering it. So he is gonna keep pushing and pushing and wear her down to get her to go in that direction. I told her she has to make up in her mind that regardless of how difficult the situation is..how daunting it may seem.. she has to stand and stand on the promises of God.  Show Him that she is depending on Him to work on your behalf.

He said His ways are not our ways and our thoughts are not like His. And He doesn't mind us coming to Him continually.

Dear DOJCI,

I understand what you've said. I've had my sorrowful experience with some Pastors, Congragations, and denominations not to be named, which don't believe in Spirit War at all and pervert the Scriptures incredibly. Sorry. Nevertheless, please, keep somewhere in your mind what I suggested above. For, believe it or not, that's not written from Faith & Hope but my actual Christian experience.

The kid's father could have been of great help too, had he come to his senses and GOD... Whatever.

As for me, I pray on. Will let you know if GOD commands something.

Faithfully. Igor.
