Matthew 16:18

And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH; and THE GATES OF HELL SHALL NOT PREVAIL AGAINST IT.

Isaiah 52:1-3

Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean.

Shake thyself from the dust; arise, and sit down, O Jerusalem: loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion.

For thus saith the LORD, Ye have sold yourselves for nought; and ye shall be redeemed without money.

Isaiah 62:10

Go through, go through the gates; prepare ye the way of the people; cast up, cast up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up a standard for the people.

Isaiah 62:11

Behold, the LORD hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.

The Lord Jesus has promised and proclaimed that the gates of hell will not prevail against His church……and yet what happened to the church…..as soon as Paul departed wolves came in and began devouring the flock……….and the church began to fall away from that point on.  The apostasy basically began way back then, culminating in the people of God being captured by “Babylon” - Rome under Constantine - which antichrist persecuted the faithful remnant mercilessly, who refused to bow to his hybrid version of Christianity.  During the Reformation, many came out of her and “returned to Jerusalem” so to speak in trying to rebuild the fallen temple of the ekklesia.  However, the same thing happened to the Protestant church as happened to Judaism when it came out of earthly Babylon and returned to earthly Jerusalem.……it retained a taint and mixture of what it had come out of.  And so the church has basically been in a fallen away state for many centuries (apart from there always being a remnant), and still is and worsening in the last days………now a remnant once again has been called “out of her” to escape the capture and judgment of the church in our time, the last days.  Since all that has been written concerning Israel has been for an ensample to the church…..sure enough the church did fall into the same mistakes  and followed the same pattern of prophecy that Israel did.

So what did Jesus mean when He said the gates of hell will not prevail against His church if she has fallen and been in captivity almost since her beginning…….i believe that in addition to the fact that He always has kept for Himself a remnant (again just like Israel),  fulfills that word, the fire of His gospel has never been entirely extinguished on the earth……but also that in the end as we approach the return of Christ, we are going to see Him glorified in His saints, as the latter rain is poured out upon His true church, Jew and Gentile, and we receive the balance owing, so to speak, on what was only the down payment when the former rain fell at Pentecost.  He is coming for a victorious church and even though bleeding and suffering and dying, she will be victorious and receiving her wedding garments and bridal jewels in the midst of the fires of persecution………tribulation will be what purifies and refines and prepares her for union with her Bridegroom.  The Lord Jesus will glorify her for His Namesake………..with GREAT glory.

This video is very prophetic…………FOR THE CHURCH………..She will be marching to heavenly Zion on that "highway" in the last days tribulation.  An established biblical principal which says, first the natural, then the spiritual…Israel is the natural sign and church is the spiritual fulfillment…..what is taking place with the City of David being unearthed, awaking, shaking the dust of her apostasy and captivity off, taking the stones/hindrances out of the way, casting up the Highway to Zion, the temple mount (heavenly)……..oh my, this is a tremendous encouragement for the people of God!  We need to have our eyes fixed on heavenly Zion, our vision set on what we will be marching towards in the tribulation, keeping our eyes ABOVE because our redemption is surely drawing nigh.  Not on things of this earth, in other words, but of heaven.
