According to these verses it starts with the sighting of the new moon:

1 Samuel 20:18 + 24-27
18 Then Jonathan said to David, “ Tomorrow is the New Moon feast [Day1]. You will be missed, because your seat will be empty.

24 So David hid in the field, and when the New Moon feast came [Day1], the king sat down to eat. 25 He sat in his customary place by the wall, opposite Jonathan, and Abner sat next to Saul, but David’s place was empty. 26 Saul said nothing that day, for he thought, “Something must have happened to David to make him ceremonially unclean,20 surely he is unclean.” 27 But the next day, the second day of the month, [Day2] David’s place was empty again. Then Saul said to his son Jonathan, “Why hasn’t the son of Jesse come to the meal, either yesterday or today?”

This had to be the visible new moon which can be seen by the naked eye when there is just enough light on the moon to be seen as the first crescent of the waxing moon. It could not be the astronomical new moon as this cannot be seen by the naked eye.

However, the modern Jewish calendar sometimes has the month beginning on the astronomical new moon, such as today, the 16th of February, as can be seen in this link: https://www.hebcal.com/converter/?gd...&gy=2018&g2h=1

But as you can see in this link the astronomical new moon is on the 16th of February:

https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=lunar+month+february+2018&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjbqOuppKrZAhWBbVAKHabCAhgQ_AUICigB&biw=1280&bih=908#imgrc=SF8APEwOoh-ncM:

The reason why this is so is because the modern Jewish calendar was invented by Jewish Rabbi Hillel II in 359 AD and he used the 19 year repeating lunar cycle known as the Metonic cycle, (named after the Greek astronomer Meton of Athens) to approximate when the observable new moon is but it is only correct about half the time.

This proves that the modern Jewish calendar is man made and was only designed to replicate God's original Calendar that He gave to Moses and which Jesus also used. The reason why this is important is because all of the feasts Jesus fulfilled were calculated using God's original Calendar, such as:

Passover = Easter
Shavuot = Pentecost
Tabernacles = Harvest Festival

These were the three most important feasts in the year:

Deuteronomy 16:16
Three times a year all your men must appear before the LORD your God at the place he will choose:

1. Passover = Easter - FULFILLED BY JESUS
2. Shavuot = Pentecost - FULFILLED BY JESUS
3. Tabernacles = Harvest festival -TO BE FULFILLED BY JESUS AT HIS SECOND COMING!

And that is why this subject should be so important to Christians.

 When USA  holiday of remembrance called Memorial Day was changed from the 30th  of May  to the last Monda in order to make a three day weekend, mere mortals managed to adjust. So cannot our creator's father also adjust, if His father  has it that He will  return  for the feast of Tabernacles?

There is a problem, actually at least two to resolve before  turning a speculation into a prediction or declaration:

 1, The Groom  does not know when His Father will make declaration that the place for the bride, the honeymoon cottage is done and it is then time to go quickly and take her.

2, The statement this generation shall not pass away before I return  has to parsed, also in context with the larger message, otherwise the whole of the message is suspect. So what is "this generation" or "what is pass away" or; has Jesus already returned?

"From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near.  So also, when you see all these things, you know that he is near, at the very gates.  Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.  Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away."

No One Knows That Day and Hour

 “But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only. For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.  For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. Then two men will be in the field; one will be taken and one left.  Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and one left. Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.  But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into. Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect."

Daniel 12:11–12 (NASB95)
11 “From the time that the regular sacrifice is abolished and the abomination of desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days.
12 “How blessed is he who keeps waiting and attains to the 1,335 days!

Verse 11 measuring back from the end [i.e. THE END]

Verse 12 measuring from the beginning (of the 70th Week of Daniel)

both of which center on the same (future) historic event... the abating of temple sacrifice.

This tells us that we cannot know the day or the hour of even the beginning of this 7 year period until

we can back date it from the aforementioned abatement.

Daniel 121112.jpg

And those who figure this out / believe the scripture passage to be true will be few in number and generally in deep cover hiding for their lives.

Without correction all calendars become errant. That is so with the Jewish religious or ceremonial calendars too. Without correction the feasts would come at the wrong seasons entirely. Tabernacles or harvest might then be scheduled for what  the Gregorian calendar calls February. Might be a bad weather time for marching to Jerusalem too.

Personally I think God capable of figuring it out and turning out the groom to seek His bride, at the time He the Father has foreknown and predestined from before the beginning. Man's effort to adjust calendars so that they make sense probably does not confuse God.
