On the first day you shall remove leaven out of your houses, for if anyone eats what is leavened, from the first day until the seventh day, that person shall be cut off from Israel. 16 On the first day you shall hold a holy assembly, and on the seventh day a holy assembly. No work shall be done on those days. But what everyone needs to eat, that alone may be prepared by you. 17 And you shall observe the Feast of Unleavened Bread, for on this very day I brought your hosts out of the land of Egypt. Therefore you shall observe this day, throughout your generations, as a statute forever. 18 In the first month, from the fourteenth day of the month at evening, you shall eat unleavened bread until the twenty-first day of the month at evening. 19 For seven days no leaven is to be found in your houses. If anyone eats what is leavened, that person will be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he is a sojourner or a native of the land. 20 You shall eat nothing leavened; in all your dwelling places you shall eat unleavened bread.” (Exodus 12:14-20)
Guest In Him
Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, "Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the passover. And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning. For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you. And ye shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons forever." Exodus 12:21-

And it shall come to pass when your children shall say unto you What mean ye by this service, That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of the LORD'S passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians and delivered our houses." And they spoiled the Egyptians.' (Exodus 12:35-36) Please Note: The word 'borrowed' is 'asked': there being no obligation attached to this giving. This was the fulfillment of God's words to Moses in Exodus 3:19-22:- 'And I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go, .. no, not by a mighty hand. And I will stretch out My hand, .. and smite Egypt with all my wonders .... which I will do in the midst thereof: ...... and after that he will let you go. And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians: .. and it shall come to pass, .... that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty: But every woman shall borrow (ask) of her neighbour, .. and of her that sojourneth in her house, .... jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: ...... and ye shall put them upon your sons, ........ and upon your daughters; .......... and ye shall spoil the Egyptians.' Praise God! For His promises are sure and He is faithful that promised. Edited January 23, 2019 by Christine
