Jer 31:31  Behold, the days come, says Jehovah, that I will cut a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah,
Jer 31:32  not according to the covenant that I cut with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which covenant of Mine they broke, although I was a husband to them, says Jehovah;
Jer 31:33  but this shall be the covenant that I will cut with the house of Israel: After those days, says Jehovah, I will put My Law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
Jer 31:34  And they shall no more teach each man his neighbor and each man his brother, saying, Know Jehovah; for they shall all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says Jehovah. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sins no more.
Jer 31:35  So says Jehovah, who gives the sun for a light by day and the laws of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, who divides the sea when its waves roar; Jehovah of Hosts is His name;
Jer 31:36  if those ordinances depart from Me, says Jehovah, the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before Me forever.
Jer 31:37  So says Jehovah, If the heavens above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth below can be searched out, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, says Jehovah.

'So Moses hearkened to the voice of his father in law,
.. and did all that he had said.
.... And Moses chose able men out of all Israel,
...... and made them heads over the people,
........ rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.
And they judged the people at all seasons:
.. the hard causes they brought unto Moses,
.... but every small matter they judged themselves.'#
And Moses let his father in law depart;
and he went his way into his own land.'

(Exodus 18:24-27)

Amos 8:11-14

11 "Behold, days are coming," declares the Lord God,
"When I will send a famine on the land,
Not a famine for bread or a thirst for water,
But rather for hearing the words of the Lord.
12 "And people will stagger from sea to sea,
And from the north even to the east;
They will go to and fro to seek the word of the Lord,
But they will not find it.
13 "In that day the beautiful virgins
And the young men will faint from thirst.
14 "As for those who swear by the guilt of Samaria,
Who say, 'As your god lives, O Dan,'
And, 'As the way of Beersheba lives,'
They will fall and not rise again."
NASB

Amos 9:7-10

7 "Are you not as the sons of
Ethiopia to Me, O sons of Israel?" declares the Lord.
"Have I not brought up Israel from the land of Egypt,
And the Philistines from Caphtor and the Arameans from Kir?
8 "Behold, the eyes of the Lord God are on the sinful kingdom,
And I will destroy it from the face of the earth;
Nevertheless, I will not totally destroy the house of Jacob,"
Declares the Lord.
9 "For behold, I am commanding,
And I will shake the house of Israel among all nations
As grain is shaken in a sieve,
But not a kernel will fall to the ground.
10 "All the sinners of My people will die by the sword,
Those who say, 'The calamity will not overtake or confront us.'

'In the third month,
.. when the children of Israel were gone forth
.... out of the land of Egypt,
the same day came they into the wilderness of Sinai.
.. For they were departed from Rephidim,
.... and were come to the desert of Sinai,
...... and had pitched in the wilderness;
and there Israel camped before the mount.'

(Exodus 19:1-2)

'And Moses went up unto God,
.. and the LORD called unto him out of the mountain, saying,
.... "Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob,
...... and tell the children of Israel;
Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians,
.. and how I bare you on eagles' wings,
.... and brought you unto Myself.
Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed,
.. and keep my covenant,
.... then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me
...... above all people:
........ for all the earth is mine;

And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests,
.. and an holy nation.
.... These are the words which thou shalt speak
...... unto the children of Israel."'

(Exodus 19:3-5)

*6 And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.

And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before their faces all these words which the Lord commanded him.

And all the people answered together, and said, All that the Lord hath spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people unto the Lord.

(Exodus 19:6-8)

*But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light  (1 Peter 2:9)

And the Lord said unto Moses, Lo, I come unto thee in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with thee, and believe thee for ever. And Moses told the words of the people unto the Lord.

10 And the Lord said unto Moses, Go unto the people, and sanctify them to day and to morrow, and let them wash their clothes,

11 And be ready against the third day: for the third day the Lord will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai.

(Exodus 19:9-11)

Exodus 19:12-18 New International Version (NIV)

12 Put limits for the people around the mountain and tell them, ‘Be careful that you do not approach the mountain or touch the foot of it. Whoever touches the mountain is to be put to death. 13 They are to be stoned or shot with arrows; not a hand is to be laid on them. No person or animal shall be permitted to live.’ Only when the ram’s horn sounds a long blast may they approach the mountain.”

14 After Moses had gone down the mountain to the people, he consecrated them, and they washed their clothes. 15 Then he said to the people, “Prepare yourselves for the third day. Abstain from sexual relations.”

16 On the morning of the third day there was thunder and lightning, with a thick cloud over the mountain, and a very loud trumpet blast. Everyone in the camp trembled. 17 Then Moses led the people out of the camp to meet with God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain. 18 Mount Sinai was covered with smoke, because the Lord descended on it in fire. The smoke billowed up from it like smoke from a furnace, and the whole mountain trembled violently.
