.. five for the boards of the one side of the tabernacle,
.... And five bars for the boards of the other side of the tabernacle,
...... and five bars for the boards of the tabernacle for the sides westward.
And he made the middle bar to shoot through the boards from the one end to the other.
And he overlaid the boards with gold,

The Ark

37 Bezalel made the ark of acacia wood—

* two and a half cubits long, a cubit and a half wide, and a cubit and a half high.

2 He overlaid it with pure gold, both inside and out, and made a gold molding around it.

3 He cast four gold rings for it and fastened them to its four feet, with two rings on one side and two rings on the other.

4 Then he made poles of acacia wood and overlaid them with gold.

5 And he inserted the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark to carry it.

(Exodus 37: 1-5)

That is, about 3 3/4 feet long and 2 1/4 feet wide and high or about 1.1 meters long and 68 centimeters wide and high

He made the atonement cover of pure gold—

* two and a half cubits long and a cubit and a half wide.

Then he made two cherubim out of hammered gold at the ends of the cover.

He made one cherub on one end and the second cherub on the other; at the two ends he made them of one piece with the cover.

The cherubim had their wings spread upward, overshadowing the cover with them. The cherubim faced each other, looking toward the cover.

(Exodus 37: 6-9)

That is, about 3 3/4 feet long and 2 1/4 feet wide and high or about 1.1 meters long and 68 centimeters wide

13 They cast four gold rings for the table and fastened them to the four corners, where the four legs were.

14 The rings were put close to the rim to hold the poles used in carrying the table.

15 The poles for carrying the table were made of acacia wood and were overlaid with gold.

16 And they made from pure gold the articles for the table—its plates and dishes and bowls and its pitchers for the pouring out of drink offerings.

(Exodus 37:13-16)

On ‎3‎/‎13‎/‎2019 at 3:37 AM, Christine said:

'And he made curtains of goats' hair for the tent over the tabernacle:
.. eleven curtains he made them.
.... The length of one curtain was thirty cubits,
...... and four cubits was the breadth of one curtain:
........ the eleven curtains were of one size.
.......... he coupled five curtains by themselves,
............ and six curtains by themselves.
And he made fifty loops upon the uttermost edge of the curtain in the coupling,
.. and fifty loops made he upon the edge of the curtain which coupleth the second.
And he made fifty taches of brass to couple the tent together, that it might be one.
And he made a covering for the tent of rams' skins dyed red,
and a covering of badgers' skins above that.'
(Exodus 36:14-19)

Praise God!

anyone remember in Hebrews where paul is speaking about the way not yet being made into the holiest .   The Holy spirit this was speaking of .

I wonder if the fifty loops has some kind of connection to the fifty days after the resurrection of Christ when the HOLY GHOST was sent to the very first apostels .

The way into the heavinly in Christ .     I just wonder if this pattern of the earthly was a forshadowing of the WAY into the most holy .

Well,  leap up and justpraise the LORD , HE IS our savoir and Blessed be the LORD .

Hello there,

I have been very aware as I have entered each post, and read those of others, of the significance each part of the tabernacle must have. Some are obvious, but all must have a part to play, a glimpse to give of the Lord Jesus Christ, I just haven't made a study of it, to be sure enough to make comment.

The mercy seat being not only overlaid with gold, but made entirely of pure gold is significant. I believe,

'And thou shalt make a mercy seat of pure gold:
two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof,
and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof.'

(Exodus 25:17)

Praise God!

@Christine Amen. I have been trying to study these lately (whenever I am well enough to do so.) I'm just :)scratching the surface so far. But I believe this was important to God.

So many intricate details that are hard for the mind to wrap around. But I love how they tie in with the New Testament. It brings a deeper and richer meaning for me. As you said, :emot-heartbeat:Jesus is the central theme.

put those hands up loved sister known as swidl.    All who love the LORD will point ONLY TO HIM and rejoice in Him and shall follow not the voice of the stranger .

JESUS ONLY SAVES and ONLY JESUS SAVES .   that the choice if one wants eternal life .    Confess HIM and believe from the heart .   All else is sands of vanity .

@Christine :amen:I found this in an article and thought I would share it:

A solid slab of pure gold formed the lid on top of the Ark, and it was called the Mercy Seat orkapporeth. It was the cover, or lid placed on the Ark and signified the covering or removal of sins by means of expiatory sacrifice. The Mercy Seat signifies the place of propitiation. It received its name from the blood of propitiation which was sprinkled on it on the Day of Atonement (Lev. 16).  It is the place where justice and mercy meet. The blood of the innocent victim on the Mercy Seat met the holy demands of God's Law. *The Old Testament throne of grace was the place where God exhibited His presence, and met man in His grace.

:) So many wonderful scriptures about Jesus being the propitiation. But one scripture that came to mind for me when reading this comment was one I've often thought of in relation to prayer...Hebrews 4:16:

*"Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." The throne of grace makes me think of the mercy seat.
