kapporeth

Shalom all,

Although it sits on top of the Ark, that's just where the Kapporeth was placed, but it is much more than lid.  Interestingly, it is mentioned as a separate item each time, in phrases like "the Ark and the Mercy Seat".  Yahweh seems to see this as a distinct piece of the Tabernacle's furniture, not a part of another piece.

So if the Kapporeth was symbolic for the Throne of Yahweh, why was it placed above the Aron (Ark)?  Well, first of all, we know that the tablets of the 10 Words were placed inside, but there are debates as to whether the pot of manna and Aaron's Staff was placed inside. So...

1. Is the Aron symbolic of our heart?  It fits in a way, with His Torah written deep in our hearts instead of stone tablets, and His Shekinah (Glorious Presence) dwelling over it. It is a good visual aide of what the Believers heart should be like.

2. Is the Aron symbolic of the Messiah's tomb?  The mystery of the Messiah's death was shrouded or covered for hundreds of years, like a sealed box or chest, with the Father protecting it above. Buried in this box or chest was the very Word of God.  Now, when the Messiah died, it is described in Matthew 27 that the veil of the Temple was ripped in two.  Is it possible that the Kapporeth was removed by God at this time when it happened - revealing an empty box or tomb, with no Word inside. He will rise!  What makes this more compelling is the word for the Ark in Hebrew, Aron, is translated as Coffin in Genesis 50:26.  This, to my knowledge, is the only time it is used for this manner, and it's for the coffin of none other than Joseph, who's whole life was the Messiah in typology.

Option 2 is an interestingly theory but there are debates as to whether the Aron and Kapporeth were even in the Temple at that time, which is a whole other story.

So excited to find out the truth one day!

Love & Shalom

Making the Lampstand

'And he made the candlestick of pure gold
.. of beaten work made he the candlestick;
.... his shaft, and his branch, his bowls, his knops, and his flowers, were of the same:
And six branches going out of the sides thereof;
.. three branches of the candlestick out of the one side thereof,
.... and three branches of the candlestick out of the other side thereof:
...... Three bowls made after the fashion of almonds in one branch, a knop and a flower;
........ and three bowls made like almonds in another branch, a knop and a flower:
.......... so throughout the six branches going out of the candlestick.
And in the candlestick were four bowls made like almonds, his knops, and his flowers:
.. And a knop under two branches of the same,
.... and a knop under two branches of the same,
...... and a knop under two branches of the same,
........ according to the six branches going out of it.
.......... Their knops and their branches were of the same:
............ all of it was one beaten work of pure gold.
And he made his seven lamps, and his snuffers, and his snuffdishes, of pure gold.
.. Of a talent of pure gold made he it,
.... and all the vessels thereof.'

(Exodus 37:17-29)

Making the Altar of Incense

'And he made the incense altar of shittim wood:
.. the length of it was a cubit, and the breadth of it a cubit;
.... it was foursquare;
...... and two cubits was the height of it;
........ the horns thereof were of the same.
.......... And he overlaid it with pure gold
............ both the top of it, and the sides thereof round about, and the horns of it:
also he made unto it a crown of gold round about.
.. And he made two rings of gold for it under the crown thereof,
.... by the two corners of it,
...... upon the two sides thereof,
........ to be places for the staves to bear it withal.
And he made the staves of shittim wood,
.. and overlaid them with gold.
And he made the holy anointing oil,
.. and the pure incense of sweet spices,
.... according to the work of the apothecary.'

Making the Altar of Burnt Offering

'And he made the altar of burnt offering of shittim wood:
.. five cubits was the length thereof,
.... and five cubits the breadth thereof;
...... it was foursquare;
........ and three cubits the height thereof.
And he made the horns thereof on the four corners of it;
.. the horns thereof were of the same:
.... and he overlaid it with brass.
And he made all the vessels of the altar,
.. the pots, and the shovels, and the basons,
.... and the fleshhooks, and the firepans:
...... all the vessels thereof made he of brass.
And he made for the altar a brasen grate of network
.. under the compass thereof
.... beneath unto the midst of it.
And he cast four rings for the four ends of the grate of brass
.. to be places for the staves.
And he made the staves of shittim wood,
.. and overlaid them with brass.
And he put the staves into the rings on the sides of the altar, to bear it withal;
.. he made the altar hollow with boards.'

Praise God!

all of it was one beaten work of pure gold

One BEATEN work .   the work of GOD .   And He was bruised for our inquities .   Beaten beyond recognition , marred beyond recognition .

The entire temple ,   of heavenly Jerusalem ,  IS OF THE LORD .      We just stones In that temple .  ALL HANDS Be LIFTED and LET ALL PRAISE THE LORD .

ALL hands be raised unto HE who has saved us .     ALL rejoicing , LET IT BE IN THE LORD .   Let it be IN THE ONE WHO has saved us .

And let all be fast and quicker than greased lightning to shun inclusive lies .   IF one rejects JESUS ,    THERE IS NO HOPE .

allah cannot save ,  the buddist , the mulsim , the hindu , the atheist ,  Are only in grave danger of hell fire , LEST a man repents and believes , THERE IS NO HOPE .

IT would not matter if all them joined hand in hand ,   Gave every penny they owned to the poor ,   Even sacrificed their own life ,   IF they die without Faith in Christ

LAKE OF FIRE IS THIER HOME .     I know stuff like this is really bothering some folks .   BUT I AINT GONNA be a man who gives false hope .   JESUS ONLY or perish .

* This is your passion, @frienduff thaylorde, and is on your heart to make known: I agree there is only One Who can save, and that is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, through the sacrificial offering of His Only Begotten Son. As Peter said, by the power of the Spirit in Act 4:12:-  'Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.'

Making the Bronze Basin

'And he made the laver of brass,
and the foot of it of brass,
of the lookingglasses of the women assembling,
which assembled at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

In Christ Jesus
Chris

OH YES its my PASSION . FOR JESUS IS MY PASSION .    But the passion of most leaders today ,  is a dead and empty bomb that will explode upon them , ON the DAY OF THE LORD .

I want us to ponder something .   Is GOD angry with those who are passionate to ensure that none follow anything or anyone , BUT CHRIST as the only savoir .

But I will tell us what makes God FURIOUS .    When men let men worship whatever they deem as God , and just come together for unity .

Those men of belial trod JESUS under foot .    And whether it costs me all,   I am going out the way I came in , SAVED BY GRACE and sounding out the ONLY NAME whereby one is saved .

And exposing every lie birthed of darkness .   WE in the last of the last of the last of days .  And most folks are just hugging others right to the lake of fire .

Those who LOVE in Spirit and truth will warn , and pray for those who do so .    Hands up and let all rejoice IN THE LORD  .    Let every hand be raised and the song of praise

to the LORD who is worthy to be praised .     You all are loved .     To the LORD be all glory to the LORD be all praise .

Making the Court

'And he made the court: on the south side southward
the hangings of the court were of fine twined linen,
an hundred cubits:
Their pillars were twenty,
and their brasen sockets twenty;
the hooks of the pillars and their fillets were of silver.
And for the north side the hangings were an hundred cubits,
their pillars were twenty,
and their sockets of brass twenty;
the hooks of the pillars and their fillets of silver.
And for the west side were hangings of fifty cubits,
their pillars ten,
and their sockets ten;
the hooks of the pillars and their fillets of silver.
And for the east side eastward fifty cubits.
The hangings of the one side of the gate were fifteen cubits;
their pillars three,
and their sockets three.
And for the other side of the court gate,
on this hand and that hand,
were hangings of fifteen cubits;
their pillars three,
and their sockets three.
All the hangings of the court round about were of fine twined linen.
And the sockets for the pillars were of brass;
the hooks of the pillars and their fillets of silver;
and the overlaying of their chapiters of silver;
and all the pillars of the court were filleted with silver.
And the hanging for the gate of the court was needlework,
of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen:
and twenty cubits was the length,
and the height in the breadth was five cubits,
answerable to the hangings of the court.
And their pillars were four,
and their sockets of brass four;
their hooks of silver,
and the overlaying of their chapiters and their fillets of silver.
And all the pins of the tabernacle,
and of the court round about,
were of brass.

The Materials for the Tabernacle

'This is the sum of the tabernacle,
even of the tabernacle of testimony,
as it was counted,
according to the commandment of Moses,
for the service of the Levites,
by the hand of Ithamar, son to Aaron the priest.
And Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah,
made all that the LORD commanded Moses.
And with him was Aholiab, son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan,
an engraver, and a cunning workman, and an embroiderer
in blue, and in purple, and in scarlet, and fine linen.
(Exodus 38:21-23)
