Yes, @turtletwo

Each successive action demands our singular attention: as also the detail of dates and times.  God's attention to detail is so precise, and the recording of it equally so, that it impresses upon us the important significance of each.  Each part being a type of the Lord Jesus Christ, each mirroring His ministry and His Work, and that of the Holy Spirit.  We really are on holy ground, aren't we?

Also, what impresses itself upon us, is the obedience of those who were especially chosen by God, divinely equipped with the necessary skills and instruction to accomplish His work.  Everything was done according to the Word of God given to Moses.  No one dared to introduce their own embellishments, or add anything of themselves to the work, all had to be of God, for Him, that His purpose be accomplished.  Praise God!

How necessary it is for us to be careful how we handle this precious Word: that we do not use it deceitfully, interpret it according to our own understanding,  or misapply it for our own ends.

May the Lord bless His Word to us, as we read, believe and inwardly digest it, that it may be both 'life' and 'spirit' to us: a sword in the hand of the Holy Spirit in our lives, setting us apart for God, in Christ Jesus, that our lives may reflect that order, and be a witness to the glory of God in our small corner of the world, that His Name be praised.

In Christ Jesus

Chris

'Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum:
.. We have such an high priest,
.... Who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;

...... A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle,
........ which the Lord pitched, and not man.'
(Hebrews 8:1-2)

And he brought the ark into the tabernacle,

.... and covered the ark of the testimony;

...... as the LORD commanded Moses.'

28And he set up the hanging at the door of the tabernacle.

29And he put the altar of burnt offering by the door of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation, and offered upon it the burnt offering and the meat offering; as the LORD commanded Moses.

30And he set the laver between the tent of the congregation and the altar, and put water there, to wash withal.

31And Moses and Aaron and his sons washed their hands and their feet thereat:

32When they went into the tent of the congregation, and when they came near unto the altar, they washed; as the LORD commanded Moses.

(Exodus 40:28-32)

And he reared up the court round about the tabernacle and the altar, and set up the hanging of the court gate. So Moses finished the work.

34Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.

35And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.

(Exodus 40:33-35)

36And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward in all their journeys:

37But if the cloud were not taken up, then they journeyed not till the day that it was taken up.

38For the cloud of the LORD was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.

(Exodus 40:36-38)

Hello there,

Looking up the word 'cloud', in order to see what I could find concerning this wonderful provision of God for His People, of the cloud by day and the appearance of fire by night: I saw reference to it worthy of a follow up in subsequent books ; but the crowning moment was the last mention of it, in Isaiah 4:2; the whole passage of which forming it's context under the heading in my online Bible of:- 'The Branch of the Lord Glorified'.  Which is an end time prophecy concerning Jerusalem, and the Messiah ('The Branch')

* In my Bible, the chapter heading is, 'Zion's Future Glory', it consists of just six verses, so I will quote it here:-

'In that day
shall the branch of the LORD be beautiful and glorious

and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely
for them that are escaped of Israel.
And it shall come to pass,
that he that is left in Zion, and he that remaineth in Jerusalem,
shall be called holy,
even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem:
When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion,
and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof
by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning.
And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion,
and upon her assemblies,
a cloud and smoke by day,
and the shining of a flaming fire by night:
for upon all the glory shall be a defence.
And there shall be a tabernacle
for a shadow in the daytime from the heat,
and for a place of refuge,
and for a covert from storm and from rain.'

(Isaiah 4:2-6)

Praise God!

Praise His Holy Name!
