Laws For Sin Offerings (cont: ...)

And if a soul sin, and hear the voice of swearing, and is a witness,
whether he hath seen or known of it; if he do not utter it, then he shall bear his iniquity.
Or if a soul touch any unclean thing,
whether it be a carcase of an unclean beast,
or a carcase of unclean cattle, or the carcase of unclean creeping things,
and if it be hidden from him;
he also shall be unclean, and guilty.
Or if he touch the uncleanness of man,
whatsoever uncleanness it be that a man shall be defiled withal,
and it be hid from him; when he knoweth of it, then he shall be guilty.
Or if a soul swear, pronouncing with his lips to do evil, or to do good,
whatsoever it be that a man shall pronounce with an oath,
and it be hid from him;
when he knoweth of it, then he shall be guilty in one of these.
And it shall be, when he shall be guilty in one of these things,
that he shall confess that he hath sinned in that thing:
And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the LORD
for his sin which he hath sinned,
a female from the flock, a lamb or a kid of the goats, for a sin offering;
and the priest shall make an atonement for him concerning his sin.
(Leviticus 5:1-5)

Praise God!

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar,  and his word is not in us.
(1 John 1:8-10)

And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the LORD
for his sin which he hath sinned,
a female from the flock,
a lamb or a kid of the goats,
for a sin offering;
and the priest shall make an atonement for him
concerning his sin.
And if he be not able to bring a lamb,
then he shall bring for his trespass, which he hath committed,
two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, unto the LORD;
one for a sin offering,
and the other for a burnt offering.

And he shall bring them unto the priest,
who shall offer that which is for the sin offering first,
and wring off his head from his neck,
but shall not divide it asunder:
And he shall sprinkle of the blood of the sin offering upon the side of the altar;
and the rest of the blood shall be wrung out at the bottom of the altar:
it is a sin offering.
And he shall offer the second for a burnt offering, according to the manner:
and the priest shall make an atonement for him
for his sin which he hath sinned,
and it shall be forgiven him.

(Leviticus 5:8-10)

But if he be not able to bring two turtledoves, or two young pigeons,
then he that sinned shall bring for his offering
the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a sin offering;
he shall put no oil upon it,
neither shall he put any frankincense thereon:
for it is a sin offering.
Then shall he bring it to the priest,
and the priest shall take his handful of it,
even a memorial thereof,
and burn it on the altar,
according to the offerings made by fire unto the LORD:
it is a sin offering.
And the priest shall make an atonement for him
as touching his sin that he hath sinned in one of these,
and it shall be forgiven him:
and the remnant shall be the priest's,
as a meat offering.

(Leviticus 5:11-13)

"And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.

And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord; (as it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;) and *to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons." (Luke 2: 21-24)

Pulpit Commentary

*Verse 24. - A pair of turtle-doves, or two young pigeons. The proper offering was a lamb for a burnt offering, and a pigeon or dove for a sin offering; but for the poor an alternative was allowed - instead of the more costly present of a lamb, a second pigeon or dove might be brought. The deep poverty of Mary and Joseph is shown in this offering. They would never have put the sanctuary off with the humbler had the richer gift been in their power.

Guest In Him

Laws for Guilt Offerings

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

If a soul commit a trespass, and sin through ignorance, in the holy things of the LORD;

then he shall bring for his trespass unto the LORD a ram without blemish out of the flocks,

with thy estimation by shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary, for a trespass offering:

And he shall make amends for the harm that he hath done in the holy thing,

and shall add the fifth part thereto, and give it unto the priest:

and the priest shall make an atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering,

and it shall be forgiven him.

Leviticus 5:14-16

The law of God is so very broad, the occasions of sin in this world are so numerous, and we are so prone to evil, that we need to fear always, and to pray always, that we may be kept from sin. Also, we should look before us at every step. The true Christian daily pleads guilty before God and seeks forgiveness through the blood of Christ. And the gospel salvation is so free, that the poorest are not shut out; and so full, that the most burdened conscience may find relief from it. Yet the evil of sin is so displayed as to cause every pardoned sinner to abhor and dread it.

Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary

Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary

And yet the entire law , the righteousness of the law can be fulfilled in Love the LORD thy GOD with ALL thy heart mind soul understanding and love thy neighbor as thyself .

Do unto others have you would have them to do unto you ,   this is the law .     For even in the law it says if one sees his neighbors ass or ox wandering

or even your enemies ass or ox wandering , YE shall not hide your eyes , you shall return it unto Him .      DO unto others as YOU would have them TO DO to you .

Would we not want those who hated us to return our animal IF it were out wandering ,  THUS do good unto those who even hate you .     And remember

DID GOD not do GOOD unto us , EVEN WHILE we too were enemies , we were reconciled to GOD by CHRIST , YEP ITS CALLED GRACE and GOD showed it to us who once too were enemies .

IF we love JESUS then we LOVE and do ALL HIS sayings and they all fulfill the law of righteousness and they all HONOR the FATHER as they HONOR the SON who HE did send .

For if we have the SPIRIT , then we have the Fruit of the Spirit , which is in all goodness , holiness and righteousness ,   Proving what is ACCEPTABLE to GOD .

Now how simple is that .   THE LAW by the Spirit in the new convenant is simply fulfilled by the Love of GOD that is shed on our heart , BY the HOLY GHOST .

Where we obey THE SPIRIT and we walk righteously BY the SPIRIT .    THEIR is POWER in the BLOOD of CHRIST , and its a power that no other blood can match or come close to .

For it reaches into even the very inner conscious of a man .      Yall know what time it is ,    Tis TIME to PRAISE THE LORD .    Hands up and let all praise the Lord .
