(Leviticus 18:1-3) * Egypt is symbolic of the world. "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him." (Leviticus 18:6-8) The Lord was very angry about what Ham did with the * nakedness of his father, Noah...as shown below and some sort of involvement from Ham's son. There was serious punishment (a curse) placed upon Canaan. Genesis 9:19-27 These are the three sons of Noah: and of them was the whole earth overspread. And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard: And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent. And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without. And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father's nakedness. And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him. And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren. And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant. (Leviticus 18: 11) This brings to mind the very sad story in 2 Samuel 13 of David's son Amnon, who was half brother to Tamar. (They had the same father in David but different mothers.) 11 But as she was feeding him, he grabbed her and demanded, “Come to bed with me, my darling sister.” 12 “No, my brother!” she cried. “Don’t be foolish! Don’t do this to me! Such wicked things aren’t done in Israel. 13 Where could I go in my shame? And you would be called one of the greatest fools in Israel.
