Laws About Vows

Only the firstling of the beasts,
which should be the LORD'S firstling,
no man shall sanctify it;
whether it be ox, or sheep:
it is the LORD'S.

And if it be of an unclean beast,
then he shall redeem it according to thine estimation,
and shall add a fifth part of it thereto:
or if it be not redeemed,
then it shall be sold according to thy estimation.

Notwithstanding no devoted thing,
that a man shall devote unto the LORD of all that he hath,
both of man and beast, and of the field of his possession,
shall be sold or redeemed:
every devoted thing is most holy unto the LORD.

None devoted, which shall be devoted of men, shall be redeemed;
but shall surely be put to death.

And all the tithe of the land,
whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree,
is the LORD'S: it is holy unto the LORD.
And if a man will at all redeem ought of his tithes,
he shall add thereto the fifth part thereof.

And concerning the tithe of the herd,
or of the flock, even of whatsoever passeth under the rod,
the tenth shall be holy unto the LORD.
He shall not search whether it be good or bad,
neither shall he change it:
and if he change it at all,
then both it and the change thereof shall be holy;
it shall not be redeemed.

These are the commandments,
which the LORD commanded Moses
for the children of Israel
in mount Sinai.'

(Leviticus 27:27-34)

Praise God!

* This brings Leviticus to a close.

I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way.

O when wilt thou come unto me?

I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.

@angels4u :th_wave:I just thought I'd let you know I'm posting from Numbers...if that is okay. I was active in the Torah books preceding it.

The Census

Numbers 1

The Lord spoke to Moses in the tent of meeting in the Desert of Sinai on the first day of the second month of the second year after the Israelites came out of Egypt.

He said: 2“Take a census of the whole Israelite community by their clans and families, listing every man by name, one by one.

You and Aaron are to count according to their divisions all the men in Israel who are twenty years old or more and able to serve in the army.

One man from each tribe, each of them the head of his family, is to help you.

17 Moses and Aaron took these men whose names had been specified,

18 and they called the whole community together on the first day of the second month. The people registered their ancestry by their clans and families, and the men twenty years old or more were listed by name, one by one,

19 as the Lord commanded Moses. And so he counted them in the Desert of Sinai:

(Numbers 1:17-19)

Matthew 12:36, 37....But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Hebrews 2:1-3 KJV.

 1. Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. 2. For if the spoken by angels was steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward; 3. How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard Him;

'And the children of Reuben, Israel's eldest son,
.. by their generations,
.... after their families,
...... by the house of their fathers,
........ according to the number of the names,
.......... by their polls,
............ every male from twenty years old and upward,
.............. all that were able to go forth to war;
Those that were numbered of them,
even of the tribe of Reuben,
were forty and six thousand and five hundred.'
