Praise God! For the breath of life that we share with all living flesh ( Gen.2:7 ; 6:17;  7:15;  7:22 )

.... and the ark went upon the face of the waters.

And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; 
.. and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.
.... Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; 
...... and the mountains were covered.’
(Gen 7:17)  

Praise God! Each 'and' encourages us to stop and consider each point as a witness to the record of the flood, it's duration and it's extent.
