'And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham
out of heaven the second time, And said,
"By myself have I sworn," saith the LORD,
.. "for because thou hast done this thing,
.... and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:
...... that in blessing I will bless thee,
........ and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed
.......... as the stars of the heaven,
............ and as the sand which is upon the sea shore;
and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
.. and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed
.... because thou hast obeyed my voice.'

(Gen 22:15-18)

Avraham then returned to his servants, and they departed together for Be’er Sheva;

and Avraham stayed in Be’er Sheva.

Sometime later, Avraham was told,

Milcah too has borne children to your brother Nahor:

Uz the first-born, and Buz his brother, and Kemuel the father of Aram;

and Chesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph, and Bethuel”. Bethuel being the father of Rivka.

These eight Milcah bore to Nahor, Avraham‘s brother.

And his concubine, whose name was Reumah, also bore children: Tebah, Gaham, Tahash, and Maacah.
Genesis 22:19-24

And the life of Sarah was a hundred and seven and twenty years; these were the years of the life of Sarah.

And Sarah died in Kiriatharba--the same is Hebron--in the land of Canaan;

and Abraham came to mourn for Sarah, and to weep for her. Genesis 23:1-2 Hebrew-English Bible

'And Abraham stood up from before his dead,
.. and spake unto the sons of Heth, saying,
.... I am a stranger and a sojourner with you:
...... give me a possession of a buryingplace with you,
........ that I may bury my dead out of my sight.'

(Genesis 23:3-4)

The Hittites answered Abraham,

“Hear us, my lord; you are a prince of God among us. Bury your dead in the choicest of our tombs.

None of us will withhold from you his tomb to hinder you from burying your dead.”

Abraham rose and bowed to the Hittites, the people of the land.

And he said to them,

If you are willing that I should bury my dead out of my sight, hear me and entreat for me Ephron the son of Zohar,

that he may give me the cave of Machpelah, which he owns; it is at the end of his field.

For the full price let him give it to me in your presence as property for a burying place.” Genesis 23:5-9

Now Ephron was sitting in the midst of the children of Heth;

and Ephron the Hittite answered Abraham in the hearing of the children of Heth, even of all that went in at the gate of his city, saying:

 'Nay, my lord, hear me: the field give I thee, and the cave that is therein, I give it thee; in the presence of the sons of my people give I it thee; bury thy dead.'

And Abraham bowed down before the people of the land

And he spoke unto Ephron in the hearing of the people of the land, saying:

'But if thou wilt, I pray thee, hear me: I will give the price of the field; take it of me, and I will bury my dead there.' Genesis 23:10-13 Hebrew-English Bible

"My lord, listen to me; a piece of land worth four hundred shekels of silver, what is that between me and you? So bury your dead."

Abraham listened to Ephron;

and Abraham weighed out for Ephron the silver which he had named in the hearing of the sons of Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, commercial standard.

So Ephron's field, which was in Machpelah, which faced Mamre, the field and cave which was in it,

and all the trees which were in the field, that were within all the confines of its border,

were deeded over to Abraham for a possession in the presence of the sons of Heth, before all who went in at the gate of his city. Genesis 23:14:18

After this,

Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field at Machpelah facing Mamre (that is, Hebron) in the land of Canaan.

So the field and the cave that is in it were deeded over to Abraham for a burial site by the sons of Heth. Genesis 23:19-20

wait till later on ,    Rachel ,  look where Rachel gets buried .   ephratah , bethleham .     ,   and then notice even later where it says Rachel weeping for her children ,

an expression of what was to come .   When the men children were killed .       I just reliazed something .  Though many of us will be killed in time to come ,

their will still be some alive AT the coming of our LORD .   wont be needing their bodies buried .     OH its always a joy to PONDER on the things OF THE LORD .
