Revelation is very practical for us. I thank you for your post. However, is there another prophecy book about which many believers say, "The PROPHECY within has nothing I can learn from, if I study"?

And if we're living when Christ will return, Revelation prophecy study is paramount.

From what I understand of preterism, Revelation is the equivalent of a comforting bedtime story.  It's not meant to foretell events but rather to let us know that everything will be all right.

Hi LD,

65% of Revelation, verse by verse, is echoed in the OT. Wonder what the horseman or trumpets or etc. are in Revelation? They're in the OT. Preterism has some issues, for example, there are persecutions mentioned in Revelation that occurred in history after 70 CE--so there is no way Revelation is allegory to speak about 70 CE or Nero, etc.

Unfortunately, a lot of Revelation is literal judgment which is yet to happen, and imminent to happen.
