Galatians 4:26  But the Jerusalem above is free, and she is our mother.

That's good wingnut and the others who found this, I knew if you searched you'd find this verse, but what's her name?  This should not be considered a  stupid question, because it's important and God talks about her all the time.

Another red flad alert/ warning --- test everything.   Reading just his came the alert:   is it a "her" actually ?  See?  Is it a "mother" actually?  (in english perhaps this is more awkward) .....   the false babylon enemy of Christ loves such things as a female entity/ to deceive everyone possible, even Christians.

So again, TEST everything - even to its source - and meaning.

Remember "our mother" is not a Christian concept for billions of deceived people on earth in the world,  but a pagan one.

So beautiful, so beautiful... Reminds of this:

"Can a woman forget her nursing child,
And not have compassion on the son of her womb?
        Surely they may forget,

Glory to God!

Amen!  :)

I have to say Jayne needs to reword that .   God IS not ALL things,  but rather created ALL THINGS.

I don't know how she meant that .    but I just did not like the way that was worded.

Be blessed and praise the Lord.

Frienduff, yes...thought it was probably a typo and meant to say that God is in all things, both male and female.

The Lord represents Himself in His word as male, and Jesus came as a man, so that is how I believe we should think of God.......but having some "female" characteristics within Himself....unfortunately fallen man has perverted the image of God, so we don't often see the gentle, comforting, nurturing, healing side of true masculinity as God intended it.  It is God humbling and lowering himself (as it were) to tend to those much weaker than Himself.......when honestly, why should such as HE even bother with such as us.....but thankfully He does.  :)  Thought those scriptures were a lovely reminder.

Does the Bible not say that God is "all in all" referring to his Sovereignty?

I will erase my statement in my post.

I don't believe your faith and trust in Jesus is wrong or in jeopardy.

The problem in this world is the many false and more than a multitude of people

who have a false gospel believing in some kind of mother they are told about from pagan idolatrous worship.

The ekklesia have no such inclinations, and always are warned by JESUS the GOOD SHEPHERD to have nothing at all to do with the false gospel or any pagan religion or any false beliefs.

YHVH is very strict, as shown throughout His Word , TORAH, PROPHETS, PSALMS and NEW TESTAMENT.

See Hebrews,  the very dire warnings about the times we live in, and the punishment possible even today....

It totally gives us MORE confidence in CHRIST JESUS,  yet not without the very stern warnings which are for the sake of all the elect in CHRIST JESUS by FAITH.

I didn't claim a mother.  I said we don't call God, Mother.  I merely gave some scripture that shows where God himself, speaks of himself in motherly terms.

I didn't mean to offend people.

Don't judge before you hear the matter.  Something represents our mother.  It's not Babylon.  God speaks about her all the time in scripture.  God's woman is not above him, but under his authority, and she's adored by him.

Proverbs 1:8   My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:

Proverbs 4:1   Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.

Proverbs 4:2   For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.

Proverbs 4:3   For I was my father's son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother.

Proverbs 4:4   He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.

Proverbs 4:5   Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.

Proverbs 4:6   Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.
