What does YHVH,  the CREATOR SOVEREIGN , CREATOR OF ALL IN HE UNIVERSE SAY ?

The penalty for sin is death.    If anyone sins, either they must die for it,

or Jesus must suffer horribly and be crucified for it.

In either case,  someone dies/died.

Yeah well again I thought we were talking about adultery as a crime and what punishment should be handed out for such crime.

I'm going to guess that it did not do anything to stop it from taking place, and there were not enough courts or jails to hold people. So maybe that was why it was done away with?  But this is only a guess on my part.

Man failed.  Churches failed.  Catholicism failed utterly.

When there was a town or city in Europe,  that offered to prosecute any priest who had abused a woman sexually,

and offered the woman a day to bring their complaints to the court to be handled and prosecuted expediently or expeditiously without the hassles and obstacles the woman had faced until then,

so many women came forward in that one place,  the whole process was thoroughly overwhelmed (as expected?) ,

and no one was prosecuted.   There was no way to arrest all the priests and prosecute them - not enough manpower or money available to do that.

Thus,  it remained status quo. (unchanged),  in spite of seemingly good efforts and good intentions - evil overwhelmed the city.

Adultery is a crime  and whoever commits adultery will die.  Permanently.  Forever.

Either that,

or Jesus takes/took their place and suffered excruciating punishment at the hands of wicked men, was crucified and hung naked upon a living tree,   died and was buried.

"Now that the place of execution has been firmly established in our minds, our next step is to determine the events that occurred that day, the day the Messiah of Israel was executed. Yahshua had spent a wakeful and anxious morning. He had been brought before the two High Priests, the Roman prefect of Judea, the Roman prefect of Galilee and Perea (and Jewish "king"), had his hair pulled, his beard plucked out, he had been spit upon, cursed, beaten, scourged, and humiliated. Finally, he was condemned. It was just before the "third hour", or 9:00 A.M. that the sanhedrin led Yahshua (and the two Zealots) to the Beth HaSeqilah at the public square for execution. ... ... ... " ... ... ...

the description of his execution is very vivid .... .... ....

Why even bring up what countries did or did not do in regard to their laws about Adultery?

What is important is what God says about Adultery not what worldly kingdoms say about Adultery..

And there has never been a ""Christian country""  There has been countries that have been influenced by Judaeo Christian principles.. But none have ever established those principles 100% ..

Why even bring it up? Because that's the question the OP asked!

As for prosecution of the perpetrators,  the victims were more often treated worse .....  even if they did nothing wrong ....

One example of many :

Chapter 11 - - Worthy Christian Library

www.worthychristianlibrary.com › John Foxe › Foxe's Book of Martyrs

At the place of execution a monk held a cross to her, and bade her kiss and worship God. To which she answered, “I worship no wooden god, but the eternal God who is in heaven.” She was then executed, but through the before-mentioned Roman Catholic lady, the favor was granted that she should be strangeled before ...

That would be something for each person to decide for themselves.

Who in their right mind would want to get married?

The ones YHVH called and chose to be Jesus' Apostles and disciples asked the same thing.

It is often dangerous with many problems and obstacles, as well as God's Judgment/Punishment potentially (that the Apostles and disciples were very much aware of as Jesus Himself told them directly.
