Grace is the love and mercy given to us by God. I would assume it's along the lines of "growing in Christ".

We grow by His Word and Spirit, an unearned favor of God. Thanks!

It could have been "growing in grace". What does that mean? It is a direct quote and the conclusion of the second letter ascribed to Simon Peter written to the Elect of the dispersion the churches of Asia Minor. It follows a steady warning to not be trapped by false teachers, and to instead grow in the grace of our Lord Jesus. Saints of Christ Jesus are saved by the grace of our Lord Jesus and the Mercy of God the Father all made known by the Holy Spirit. So, I personally conclude that Peter was and still is encouraging the elect to know the word of our Lord and to seek the sheltor of God through His sacrifice made for each of us and understood by the agency of the Holy Spirit. He wrote that conclusion after telling the elect to avoid the distractions and false doctrines of the little anti Christs that had been invading the churches ( and still do). p.s.
