What are the primary reasons you attend a traditional church service?   For example, some get energized by gathering to sing and pray, others want to hear the lesson from the pastor, and some feel the whole experience renews them for the week and helps them focus on God.

For most of these reasons. Our current church doesn't serve coffee.

To worship, exalt and praise God together with like minded Christians.  To learn by inspired expository teaching of the Word.  To pray for the salvation of those the Holy Spirit is drawing.

John chapter 4 verse 24

God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth."

I see no reason to attend.

This is just for the record. There are no denominations or church hierarchies in Gods kingdom. The organized churches are what they are. In themselves there is no salvation except the power of Gods word which is life to all who love it and are led by it. I am not of any church belief that often misleads those who embrace them. I attend a Baptist church near me but I am not a Baptist or any other such as Methodist, Lutheran, or Pentecostal. I go to be with Gods people. and lift Jesus up with them.

About church, We see through traditional eyes. We say we are going to church. This Is not biblical. Its a misnomer. The church is within us. Paul said "no ye not ye are the Temple and the spirit of God dwells within us. Christ Told the disciples that he had to go away because if He did not the Holy Spirit would not come. He also said that when He comes He wold be with us and would also be in us. All this makes us a church personally and we go to the house of meeting to be with His followers to lift Jesus up together. We are His church when we walk in His spirit and keep His commandments . Don't let the Modernday traditional system rob you of who we really are.

God bless

I don't know if this counts as traditional but I've always liked the "High Church" aspect. The Smells and Bells help me focus my mind on God. Plus, the pageantry reminds me that Christ is King.

High Church as in Anglican, Catholic and Eastern Orthodox liturgies. Lots of moving parts that make you feel there is a mystery involved. As God is the highest mystery in the world.
