Following Christ for many years, I find I gain so much more than what I have ever "given up".  And the things that stand in the way of my relationship with God, I don't need to "try" because I will fail, I require, absolutely need His help through the process.

Everything we have was provided by God, if not indirectly.  He provides our education, jobs and strength and wisdom to do them.  He is the Creator of our very life.   We owe Him everything--especially in regards to our salvation.   So when we simply recognize that we are but caretakers or stewards of all He has placed into our hands.

I gave up one thing for my salvation——- self-effort.

To walk with the Lord Jesus is a blessed life....the only things we give up are actually things that would hurt or destroy us.

Trying to give up everything for Jesus, is as simple as putting Him first all the time.

When you determine to do this,  and walk daily in this for a while you will find that what does not really matter in your life, will become  clearly obvious.

Paul the apostle said, (and I paraphrase), "everything has become nothing to me, because Christ has become All to me".

The reason that sinners and many Christians, dont surrender all, is because they dont feel inside that what God has to offer, can match what they are use to FEELING and wanting, in their life.

A wonder of God, and there are so many, is that, He is not trying to stop anyone from doing anything, unless its harmful to them or to others.

The Buddha, said that "lack of want" is the place of peace, and this is nonsense, as God created us to want.....Our nature is driven by want.

As a matter of fact, you will want something all the time, until you are dead...., so that is not the issue........The issue is wanting what is bad for you, or what is going to harm you if you access this harmful want.

So, to surrender to the Lord is to discover MORE of Him, more of His peace,  fulfillment, contentment, and the Joy of the Lord you will find within your surrender, will give you the power to surrender more of you.

This is just like.......when a person stops trying to save themselves  and really begins to lean on the ("gift of Righteousness)  Grace of God (Atonement) to keep them saved, they find that their Christianity blooms and becomes better, and this is because we are not to be performing on a personal cross in this area, as GRACE is not about struggle, its about receiving from God His Love, that IS unconditional.

Walking in God's Grace, gives you the power to live Holy, while struggling to save yourself, with works, will make you unhappy, full of discontent, bitter,  and can make you quit your Christian discipleship.

The more you surrender to God, the more obvious God will reveal Himself to you.

God is not looking for your perfection, He is looking for your affection, as you will always surrender yourself to what or whom you LOVE.

God bless,
