The word trinity isn't used in the Bible, but the concept is. Someone just used that word to describe the concept and it caught on.

Many terms aren’t in the Bible doesn’t necessarily make it false, in Matthew 28:19 Jesus describes the Holy Trinity very clearly:

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

1 John 5: KJV

{7} For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."

Jesus is the Word..

Just to be clear, according to the Greek lexicon, it's really "spirit, water and blood".

I do not recognize lexicons as the inspired infallible words of God..

Using a lexicon to judge the Holy Bible is like using a sewer water to clean a new born baby..

"Trinity" is a word used as shorthand by Christians to describe some biblical concept/belief, kinda like "rapture". However, the challenge becomes affirming that everyone who uses the word actually means the same thing everyone else who uses the word means.

And it turns out that they usually don't. I just avoid using the word and like to say the bible says that Jesus and the father are one, just as my wife and I are one. Jesus was a perfect sacrifice for our sins, not because he is God, but because he was a perfect man and became the perfect sacrificial lamb according to the law, effectively completing it.

The bible actually says there are two sons of God. Jesus and Adam. It's right there in black and white. (but I don't agree with the translation)

How one wants to align your beliefs about the character of God based on this information is up to them, of course. The Good News is that Jesus paid the price!

That makes zero sense. Dictionary's (lexicons) define words. The bible uses words. You can't know what the bible says unless you understand the meaning of the words it uses. That is, unless you believe it is written in some sort of "heavenly language" and only those with an Urim and Thummim can understand its true meaning. ;)

If you trust that the ones who produced the lexicons are infallible in defining the words then so be it.. You can elevate your lexicon to the status of the Gospel and the ones who produced the Lexicon to the status of Apostles if you wish..

For me i do not trust them as far as i could kick them..

If this makes Zero sense to you then so be it..

Just a quick comment: I became a Christian at age 27. There were a LOT of things I accepted as "sure things" that have been turned on their ear since that time in 1981. I was incredibly naive and simply soaked up whatever any "mature Christian" told me. As I studied each issue my beliefs ether became stronger or they changed. A lot of "sure things" changed.
