I’m new here, but I had to share my excitement as a Frank Paretti book that I’ve just finished simply blows me away.

I didn’t think of the spiritual realm like this before until I read his book. It’s kinda freaking me out as well to know that it so real and exists all around us. I know the bible says that it does, but it wasn’t until I read this book that I really thought about it in this context and the battle that we face. Don't get me wrong,  its not scaring me it's just a new way of looking at it for me.

Anyway, I just finished the book called This Present Darkness and my friend has lent me Paretti’s other one called Piercing The Darkness. I read the first one in 2 days as I couldn’t put it down. Has anyone else experienced this with Paretti’s books, I find it absolutely amazing and simply can’t get it out of my head?

I’m going to start reading Piercing The Darkness tonight… and I can’t wait!

Welcome to WCF!  :)

I loved Peretti's books -- very insightful and gives you an understanding of what's happening in the Spiritual Realm.  Fascinating.

You may love the book - the Oath as well written by Peretti.

God bless,

George

Excellent! Thanks George for your reply. I’ll add it onto my “To read” list :) .

Is it the same genre as the one I’ve just read?
Thanks so much.

Yes it is.  It's a fictional book -- with a lot of spiritual allegories.  However, it reminds me more of Pilgrims Progress than Piercing the Darkeness.  If you haven't read Pilgrims Progress -- read it -- in Modern English.

God bless,

George

Who likes Frank E. Peretti?

I do. His works plant a lot of seed. A fictional writer, but truth exposed, often to seekers. I used to hand out cheap copies of Hal Lindsey's 'The Late, Great, Planet Earth'. I attribute fruitful seed from his book that influenced a high school friend and his wife to turning to Christ. And later his children. Great witnessing tool.

I like what you said Gary Lee,
“His works plant a lot of seed. A fictional writer, but truth exposed, often to seekers.”

I agree as I’ve found it encouraging and also liked how it portrays Gods divine protection. My Sis does not believe...yet,  however it has made her curious when I talk about it.

Im a huge Peretti fan...and this present darkness amd piercing the darkness were both good books, but in my opinion he doesn't really shine until you get to The Oath and The Visitation. Those are, in my humble opinion his absolute best two books. Theyre my favorite anyway.

Which of the Peretti books deals with the TV anchorman and abortion?   I can't think of it.

The prophet. Thats actually the only one i have not read, i picked it up once but it didn't hold my interest. My wife on the other hand loved it, as sue is active in our local crysis pregnancy center.

Right - the Prophet.  That was a good book -- unique insights into the abortion industry and the pro-life battle.
