something I saw yesterday  inspired me to make this. while we are encouraged r have unsaved friends some caution is needed  with  their impact in our lives. ever notice how unsaved friends will encouage you to  do things  that may be sinful or  questionable  for Christians  only to run it in your faces if you consent?

Seems more Jewish than Christian to keep oneself separate from all others.

we can have unsaved friends, we should have.  The separation comes in their sinful  or questionable activities ie  drinkingthe beer. People may argue with whats wrong with drinking beer, but whats right about it? It risks  starting to run the road to alcoholism, drunkeness and it gives  the unsaved an opportunity to  bad talk christians and Cristianity. For that reason, it puts it in the -lawful but not expedient bracket for me. What i do find funny though is the excuses christians come up with to justify it despite all of these negatives.

But I can be a friend by being the designated driver! Or I can host the party and let everyone stay over at my house.

That's what I do with my Christian friends, why not do the same for  my friends that are not yet knowing of their salvation in the sacrifice made by Jesus?

It's a joke to make a point.

One can be a friend to all  or one can worry about all turning  on one any minute. I choose not to  be so worried that I cannot be found with others. I need not be monk like. I can be in this world without being of it.

In the cartoon, the unbeliever was obviously laying a trap calling him 'Church Boy'. What is harder to handle is when the unbeliever is not intentionally trying to entrap you but is subtly being used by satan to slowly entrap you. Kind of like the frog in water being brought to an ever so slow boil.

Worse yet is the pious practitioner of Christianity that  always tries to set traps for others and turns on most everyone of the local body while cherishing the opportunity to accuse, pointing out the sliver in their eye.

Seems to me sharing of Jesus does not require a lot of specific sin calling out, for all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. Calling out specific sin seems to me to get one into a  discussion of the degree of sin rather than the need to have sin's price or consequence paid up, in full.

Never said not be with others. note thr captions was be careful what you DO with them. the danger is the activities you find yourself participating in with them

Actually it concluded with "they can turn on you any minute."  Personally I have not found that to be the nature of people, especially those sharing of a bottle. But truth is I do not drink alcohol at all, I do not do illegal nor for the most part even legal drugs. I face life sober, but not somber. I rejoice in the opportunity to be with people, and I spend very very little time seeking out their faults. Instead I try to enjoy their company and let them see me ( and hopefully in me they may have a hint of my Lord and savior Jesus).

One good toke leads to another, they say. Can't promote it but wouldn't deny another either. Like Timothy taking a little wine for his tender stomach perhaps a little mellow in a life of turmoil....

And for the seriously downtrodden taking comfort where they can find it let them be. They need not the scowling raised eyebrow of the more prosperous and secure in faith an fortune. It benefits no one.

The words of King Lemuel. An oracle that his mother taught him:

What are you doing, my son? What are you doing, son of my womb?

What are you doing, son of my vows?

Do not give your strength to women,

your ways to those who destroy kings.

It is not for kings, O Lemuel,

it is not for kings to drink wine,

or for rulers to take strong drink,

lest they drink and forget what has been decreed

and pervert the rights of all the afflicted.

Give strong drink to the one who is perishing,

and wine to those in bitter distress;

let them drink and forget their poverty

and remember their misery no more.

Open your mouth for the mute,

for the rights of all who are destitute.

 Open your mouth, judge righteously,

defend the rights of tthe poor and needy.

We all have sinned true, but calling out specific sins brings a person to realize their own sin, like Jesus with the rich young ruler or the woman at the well.

"does not require a lot of specific sin calling out" My point is one need not dwell so much on the specific sin as though it were the greater of sins, but instead that no one is perfect on their own account, all have fallen short of the glory of God and are in need of God's mercy and grace.
