Luke 16:10

10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.
KJV

Scripture structures our thought and our reasoning toward God of it... there are no levels of right! There is only right or wrong...

Sorry, but your first sentence is unclear and your second sentence about being no levels of right  is silly unless you can equate listening to a guitar solo to killing Jews simply because they are Jews. There will be degrees of punishment in Hell just as sure as there will be superior and inferior rewards in Heaven. It’s that  “ many stripes” thingy found in Luke12:47.

Okay, so here's the thing, I know for a fact this post is going to push a few buttons as I know there is bound to be at least one person who is a member at this church who will see this.

Firstly, let me start off by saying that I do not know how to test the spirits as yet and therefore I am unable to tell whether or not someone is a false prophet and so, therefore, I always conduct a google search to do a background check on the "preacher" in question - I've only recently started doing this. I think highly of Joyce Meyer but according to research, she's a false prophet. I wouldn't say I follow the teaching of Steve Furtick as I have yet to listen to one of his messages but I love, love, love Elevation Worship. According to research, he is a false prophet.

I have seen online that Pastor Furtick is a big fan of rock music and it shows in his ministry, his church does look a lot like a concert venue. It just makes me question if I am in the wrong for listening and worshipping to the music of Elevation Worship. I have their songs fullness, give me faith, the King is among us and resurrecting on repeat, with a strong love for a couple others.

ANOTHER EXAMPLE: Charlotte Gambill of Life Church, Bradford, UK

I remember my first encounter with Charlotte's message, it was at a women's conference hosted by a popular UK Christian organisation called Premier. I loved her message and went on to attend Charlotte's own women conference several months later with empowering and uplifting messages, there was a couple of secular songs played but not half as much as I heard when I attended her conference this year. I guess I didn't hear as much secular music as I attended her conference myself this year and was always on time to hear the word, in comparison to last year when I went with a friend and we were always late. This year, music from the likes of Beyonce, Pharrell Williams etc. was played and I looked around thinking that I couldn't possibly be the only person to disagree with what was going on? Secular music at a Christian conference?

I wasn't as bothered last year as I wasn't so grounded in the word and in my faith as yet but my present church has taught me how vital it is to not participate in listening and singing secular music. I guess 1 Corinthians 10:31 confirms why, "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." The issue is I love their worship team too, not half as much as I do Elevation Worship but that's beside the point.

Honestly, I don't know why I even bothered to write this post. I know it's wrong to continue listening to a worship team led by a wolf in sheep's clothing. I guess like things of the world it's hard to pull away from something damaging to your spiritual walk, even more so actually. I just thought I would share my viewpoint with you all.

God bless you all,

Deanne

You will know them by their fruit.

Good fruits are shiny, vibrant and healthy.

Bad fruits are shrivelled, rotten, and stinky.

For example: Pope John Paul vs Pope Benedict

Dear sister, there is so much confusion about "Christian Music" today, the first criteria we must use is is it Scriptural and the second is who's singing it, the world or the Church?

Then we must decide what is the purpose of why are we listening to it, ...worship or pleasure, ...if it's for worship of our Holy God then we don't want to desecrate His Holy Temple by bringing something unclean into it through our ears, when we worship Him with our voices His Word tells us He comes to dwell with us, to inhabit the praises of His children, His Presence can be so overwhelming that we can no longer sing and we stand in silence before Him, THAT is Worship in its purest, unadulterated sense/form, ...in every revival the Holy Spirit gives the music and always it's straight out of His Word.

If it's for pleasure, then the same thing applies, but not necessarily "worship" music, if I'm doing something mundane in my home or workshop, I love the blues, ...Larry Norman , Phil Keaggy, Darrel Mansfield, Terry Clark, Keith Green, Praise, the list is endless, ...and often the Lord is faithful and a even though it's not a specified time of Worship, Father will bless my heart with a verse and I will fall to my knees, tears streaming down my face because of the Grace He has shown to this vile sinner (and that is Worship in it's purest form too, ...Father holding His child in His arms).

I hope that helps you dear one, Lord bless

Music that is made by anyone will minister to the soul.

Spiritual music - music ordained of God - will minister to the spirit.

Which one do you want to feed?
