:amen: Good advice. I can attest to that. I have been making a point of doing that lately and it definitely helps. In fact, my posting this poem is a way of reaching out to those who may need to hear they are not isolated in their struggles. It is good to practice edification as the scripture sets forth. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 says,"Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do." Sometimes I am just in too much physical pain to actually do something to help. But in those moments I can still pray for others... Intercession is so important.

I realize that even in my worthless and unworthy state God still loves me and willingly suffered death to save me..

Apart from Jesus it is true, we are worthless! Our worth is found only as we find ourselves in Him...

Foe example read just Ephesians 1 and notice all the blessings that are found in the expression 'in whom' (KJV) or 'in Him' (most other versions).

Thanks for pointing this out. I went to Ephesians 1 just now and looked at it more closely. I found several 'in whom', just as you'd said. Oddly enough, I never thought about it that much in the way that you'd explained it.  So I am glad  :) you brought it to my attention.

Hi all,

I confess that I think I never feel small, nor not wanted at all. I may be alone, I may be alone in a crowd. Yet, I never feel small at all.

I think of the fly on the wall poem ( My mother'sversion) and then I don't feel so small at all. I am happy to be where I am, and what I am, for it is what God made me to be.

My mother used to entertain me with it:

Little fly upon the wall
Ain't you got no friends at all?
Ain't you got no father, mother?
Ain't you got no sister, brother?
Ain't you got no shabby shirt?
Ain't you got no petticoat?
Little fly, d'you want to see God?

Splat!

I am not a speck on the wall I am what God has made me to be. Glory be to God for his kindness.

PLEASE READ THIS EVEN THOUGH LONG ( INCLUDES A POEM I WROTE WITH YOU IN MIND)

A POEM FOR YOU GUYS WITH A LONG BUT HEARTFELT INTRO:

TONIGHT I WAS FEELING DOWN AND QUESTIONING THE MEANING OF MY LIFE.
IT WAS THEN THAT GOD LED ME TO WRITE THIS POEM.
I FELT LIKE I SHOULD SHARE IT WITH YOU GUYS.
I KNOW THERE MUST BE OTHERS OUT THERE
WHO FEEL THIS WAY, TOO.

SO THIS POEM GOES OUT WITH LOVE FROM ME TO YOU.
IT IS DEDICATED TO THOSE WHO STRUGGLE WITH CONFUSION,
LONELINESS AND DEPRESSION.

WE ALL HAVE OUR OWN STORIES AND UNIQUE REASONS.

MINE HAS MUCH TO DO WITH HOW LIMITED I AM BY
MY CHRONIC HEALTH ISSUES
AND DISABILITIES THAT
KEEP ME HOME BOUND.
WHAT'S YOUR STORY?
SHARE, IF YOU LIKE.

I HOPE THIS CAN SPUR ON A DISCUSSION
OF WAYS TO COUNTERACT SATAN'S LIES
THAT TRY TO DRAG US DOWN.

FOR ME THERE IS NOTHING
MORE POWERFUL THAN THE CROSS.
1 Corinthians 1:18 "For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness;
but unto us which are saved it is the power of God."

PLEASE COMMENT. I'D LOVE TO HEAR YOUR THOUGHTS!!!!

SOMETIMES I FEEL

SOMETIMES I FEEL SO VERY SMALL
LIKE NO ONE KNOWS I'M HERE AT ALL

I WONDER WHY I'M ON THIS EARTH
AND FEEL I HAVEN'T ANY WORTH

BUT THEN I THINK THIS CAN'T BE RIGHT
AND I MUST WALK BY FAITH, NOT SIGHT

FOR IF I TRUST WHAT SCRIPTURES SAY
I KNOW IT CAN NOT BE THAT WAY

THOUGH FOLKS AT TIMES MAY BE UNKIND
THE SAVIOR DIED WITH ME IN MIND

HE LOVED ME AND HE TOOK MY PLACE
SO ALL MY SINS HE COULD ERASE

THERE WILL BE TIMES I FEEL ALONE
AND MY LIFE'S PURPOSE SEEMS UNKNOWN

BUT SATAN CAN NOT TAKE FROM ME
WHAT JESUS DID AT CALVARY!

Lovely poem. The truth is that u never have to feel worthless because you're NOT. Take this from a teen, we all worry about work, health or whatever but we don't need to because we have JESUS and PRAYERS. Whenever i have problems (big or small) i take them to God. And he ALWAYS answers, just in a way we might not expect. You may question God because things didn't go as u planned but  Man Proposes God Disposes. He knows why u had that disease or why u had that accident or why u got divorced or whatever. It is because he loves u and has plans 4 u. E.g A man who was rich and now poor may blame God for his "misfortune". He doesn't know that it was part of God's plan for him to become poor so he may experience what others are suffering and become a philanthropist. And ofcourse he will learn skills and make friends with people he might not have made friends with when he was rich. So noone has to feel worthless because God loves them and has plans for them. Remember this: Everytime life gives u lemons is an opportunity from God to refresh yourself with lemonade

God Bless U Always

      Hey Guys,
So as a few of you know, recently I have been struggling with my mental health issues - Schizophrenia, anxiety, paranoia & depression. But just looking back at all, I realize and i KNOW that I've been struggling so much because I've been lacking in the area of spending time with Jesus. I believe that every day God wakes me up, that its the opportunity for a fresh start, a new beginning, a chance to start over or try again. I've been down for nearly a month now. But today in the afternoon, I choose to run back to him .And if yous could please pray about this. My spirit is suffering because I havent been in his word or prayer GENUINELY. It just slowly faded away and  always put off prayer saying i'll do it later. Or say i'll read the word tonight, then i hop in bed and go to sleep straight away. I am asking if yous could pray for me cause I know I need Jesus and I know i want to spend time with him. And...I am running back to him. Thank yous all for your continuous support, encouragements and prayers.

God is love. But God doesn't love us in our sin. He loves us out of our sin. Love that condones sin isn't really love...it is permissiveness. Those who count on God being permissive about sin...have not met Him.
People tend to love the hell in others...just look how many women fall in love with the basest criminals on death row! There is a wickedness that attracts people to each other...because of the flesh. But God loves the hell...out of us. As we who are in Christ also should love. God loves the death out of us by offering us to partake of HIS life. God stands for, as we also should stand for...only that which is eternal and gives life.
But there is a love and fascination with death in the world. All who turn their backs on God, even for a moment...are attracted to death.
Self-awareness doesn't mean we are without the love of death and the world. It means we are aware of this pull within our hearts and minds.
The righteous are they that hate their sin natures. These make no excuses nor are they trying to get away with their sins. Just like the publican who beat his breast and couldn't even look up to heaven...such was his shame and disgust at his own inclinations towards sin and wickedness.
God justified this appeal since it is only right to come clean with one's sins. The righteous take responsibility for their sins with self-loathing. God is then free to love and justify such a one...since the truth is already being embraced. God is love IN truth. Not away from truth.  Likewise we are to speak the truth in love.
Jesus said.."I did not come to call the righteous to repentance"...since they are already self-aware and esteem their sinfulness correctly.
But then there is the rest of us...and among us many who are looking to get away with their sins. The Holy Spirit convicts us of sin, they who are called to repentance....so that we might go to God for forgiveness and a change of heart. (The human heart is very wicked and selfish of itself)
But in today's society and churches...we see something else.  We see self-love promoted as if it was a requirement to higher virtues.
When a person is "loved" just as they are...without the change of heart in a deep repentance...and offered a religious justification IN their fallen sinful state...a worse situation is created. Jesus said to the Pharisees ...
Mat. 23:15 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel across sea and land to make a single proselyte, and when he becomes a proselyte, you make him twice as much a child of hell as yourselves."
It's one thing to justify the wicked OUT of their sins...and quite another to justify the wicked IN their sins.
Add to this the desire to fill the pews for human purposes such as success in ministry and increased finances...and we get the perfect storm of wickedness and iniquity whereby we do exactly as the Pharisees that Jesus condemned so roundly. Actually we become worse than the pharisees because we have the bible as a testimony to the truth.
Repentance is not popular any longer...as if it ever was. But today this is seen as disrespectful and intolerable. Even in the churches. There is a lack of taking responsibility for one's own sins and general behaviour....using Jesus as a license to remain carnal...based on this notion of preemptive forgiveness. (Actually a blatant disregard for the serious nature of sin)
So then people don't realize how evil they really are. Many have become much worse than before and under a worse judgment...all the while claiming to be saved.
The spiritual battle that was once outside the church..in the darkness of the world...has now entered into the church. The inconceivable has taken place. The light has been quenched by the darkness. The devil has penetrated the defenses and is in the courtyard. Are we his unwitting slaves who have not gone to the cross to be liberated from the sinful nature so as to become DEAD to sin? Are we so self-absorbed that we can't see how the devil uses us to bring divisions and death to the brethren?
There is an urgent need for repentance in the churches of today. We have been caught trying to serve more than one master. And that other master...the one who hides insidiously in our own self-love....has come to collect his due.

2nd Corinthians 4:6 :   " For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.""

Let us search the way this verse reveals how Jesus is God.... John 1:10
      So beautiful.
      ---------------------------

"""For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness......""""

This is not only a reference to Genesis....."let there be LIGHT".
But its a reference to and a description of  Yeshua,  who IS TRUTH,  John 14:6....&  came to this fallen (Dark) World He created,  John 6:51  and shined and still shines, as the "Light of the World".
Its also a statement regarding spiritual darkness, as the state of the fallen, defined as "the World", as they are described as having their "mind's blinded" by the Devil.  2nd Corinthians 4:4.
As.... if you are mentally - spiritually blinded, then you are INSIDE Spiritual Darkness, and it is INSIDE YOU.

      The verse continues...

      "hath shined in our hearts"....

Here the idea is, that   The  Truth (as shining) is being revealed to us, concerning Christ, who is the shining Light of the world.   He is not "a" truth, but in fact Jesus is "THE" Truth.  John 14:6

and continuing the revelation, (the shining)... and  now explaining the "why" of the (shining) revelation.. = what is the purpose?

"to give the knowledge"....  as this is the reason for all "Light" that is given.  Its to reveal and impart... Its a means to open the eyes of your Spiritual UNDERSTANDING.... as something revealed by the shining Light of revelation, is an opening into the understanding of a spiritual knowledge.
This is the purpose of the shining of the light (revelation) into our hearts....

      And what is the revelation?

First....  That Jesus has been revealed to us, by our spiritual awakening. (Quickening).
We have been given the revelation that Jesus is the Messiah, The Savior, The Son of God,  who is the One sent from and came down from Heaven,  John 6:51.  and that Jesus alone is Salvation...."THE way".  "i am THE resurrection".... "that you may KNOW that you have eternal life", as Jesus IS eternal life.
The reason you have eternal life right now, is because you have Jesus, who IS Eternal Life.

and foremost the revelation is to expose THIS Truth....
= "of the Glory of God......(where ?) .= IN THE FACE of Jesus Christ.""""

And what is the Glory of God?
Its His essence..  Its His Righteousness, ..... Its His nature..... it's His image..... Its HIMSELF,  revealed as JESUS the Righteous, whose name...is HOLY., and Holy is the Lamb.
They are the same.  They are One.  In the beginning the word was God, and God  Timothy 3:16.  is manifested in the Flesh as "I am".  This is why when Thomas, upon first seeing Jesus after He was resurrected said...."my Lord and my GOD", and Jesus didn't correct Him, as why would God correct the Truth regarding Himself ? ???

So, THIS =  is why you have this verse in the NT.....> "if you've seen ME (Jesus) you've SEEN the Father,""", as God  and Jesus  are mirrors of each other.
Jesus is the image of God, the Face of God, the Grace of God, the Truth of God, The Blood of God,  the Word of God, the Spirit of God, the Glory of God, the Righteousness of God, the Heart of God, The Love of God, the Forgiveness of God,  and the Power of God.
      Jesus is God.

Hi, I just wanted to ask about the way forward. I'm in a great relationship with my girlfriend for 14 months, but recently I saw my ex by chance and she is self harming and has been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and had attempted suicide. She was also sexually abused as a child and raped at the age of 19. She is seeing a psychologist as well. She confided in me about why things spiralled. (Was in a relationship with a narcissist and ended up feeling worthless)So how, if at all, should I be there for her? And should I make a passive or active effort?

      Hello, everyone!
I am new to this forum and just seeking help in a certain area of my life. It's been a trying year, and
      1) I guess I am struggling in general with when I ask G*d for guidance/clarity/next steps to be made clear and I don't feel like I get an answer
      2) I got majorly scammed by someone I had hired and I have been seeking an answer from G*d as to how I should handle the situation. It has been very frustrating because I feel like I have not gotten an answer from G*d (this happened about 1.5 months ago, and it is somewhat time-sensitive due to bank guidelines and so forth).  (details- I basically signed up a business coaching program with this "scammer" person who had been recommended to me by someone I trusted-- the program was WAY overpriced with little substance, not to mention the scammer blew off our calls and removed my access to things I had paid for, that were included with the coaching program.)
So far, I have asked for a refund from the scammer (they said no) but I have not officially hired a lawyer or taken other action against them. I am basically out A LOT of money (over $10k that I did not have to begin with, and I am now in quite a bit of debt.) I originally hired this person to help me grow my small business in property management.
      anyway, would love some advice!
