For somone who changed their name(first and middl) for personal reasons,is this dishonorable to parents? I understand they may not approve. But is it a dishonor?

I don't think so.  A woman usually changes her last name when she marries and that is not dishonor even though it is the family name.  Many actors change their names.  John Wayne was Marion Robert Morrison, to Marion Mitchel Morrison, to John Wayne.   So unless your purpose is to remove yourself from your family, I can't see how it would dishonor them.  However, different cultures may view it otherwise.

Hi,

I don't believe that changing names is shameful or disgraceful to parents... Most of the times, people do this for some good reasons! For example... if, they were abused by their parents during childhood... etc! This sad reality is sickening me... enough said! I see those kind of (heartless) parents only has biological donors!

Regardless, I hope you got the answer you were seeking on Worthy Christian Forums... God Bless!

Yours truly, PATMEN
