I praise the Lord for his love, his forgiveness, comfort, his word, his presence, his guidance, his provision..that he loves us so much and that he wants relationship with us and wants to hear from us and guides and directs us.. God is so good and his mercies are new every morning.   He does more for me then I realize.. Thank you God for all you do for us!  Amen.

Psalm 103

Of David.

Praise the Lord, my soul;
    all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
Praise the Lord, my soul,
    and forget not all his benefits—
who forgives all your sins
    and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit
    and crowns you with love and compassion,
who satisfies your desires with good things
    so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

The Lord works righteousness
    and justice for all the oppressed.

He made known his ways to Moses,
    his deeds to the people of Israel:
The Lord is compassionate and gracious,
    slow to anger, abounding in love.
He will not always accuse,
    nor will he harbor his anger forever;
10 he does not treat us as our sins deserve
    or repay us according to our iniquities.
11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
    so great is his love for those who fear him;
12 as far as the east is from the west,
    so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

13 As a father has compassion on his children,
    so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;
14 for he knows how we are formed,
    he remembers that we are dust.
15 The life of mortals is like grass,
    they flourish like a flower of the field;
16 the wind blows over it and it is gone,
    and its place remembers it no more.
17 But from everlasting to everlasting
    the Lord’s love is with those who fear him,
    and his righteousness with their children’s children—
18 with those who keep his covenant
    and remember to obey his precepts.

19 The Lord has established his throne in heaven,
    and his kingdom rules over all.

20 Praise the Lord, you his angels,
    you mighty ones who do his bidding,
    who obey his word.
21 Praise the Lord, all his heavenly hosts,
    you his servants who do his will.
22 Praise the Lord, all his works
    everywhere in his dominion.

Praise the Lord, my soul.

:emot-bounce:So happy to read this! Psalm 103 is a favorite of mine. It shows us such a loving portrait of our Creator. It paints Him in soft colors. We see in Him tenderness that touches the heart.

As someone who gets down on myself, I find special comfort in 13-14:

I have unfortunate struggles sometimes with thinking God is mad at me. (Probably came from the inferiority complex I had as a kid.)

When I fear this, the Holy Spirit will gently remind me of Psalm 103. I love it!! He remembers I am but dust and takes pity on me. :)

Thanks Frances for this post...

Hi Frances,

So many good things in the Psalm that you shared. I do love the above reminder, a visual description of just how much God loves us.

Thank you for your encouragement.

:amen: I like your comment about the vastness of God's love! It made me think of how we, as humans have a way of measuring things (and judging them best by how enormous they are. For instance, "great wealth." and exaggerated expressions like "perfect health.")

This verse is about the height of His love. This brought to mind the contrasting measurement... the depth of it. The following verse says:

"He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.."

Micah 7:19 That is definitely deep! :)
