It's not by random happenstance that the world today is being driven in the direction of globalism.  As the above verse states, the man of sin is given authority over the inhabitants of the planet.  There will be no competing authority.  What we see going on in the world today through globalism is working toward that end.

God created the nations by confusing the common language at the tower of Babel.  Satan is seeking to reverse that through the spreading of the globalist ideology of one world, one people, which of course he will rule through the man of sin.  His plan is for all to worship him and to eradicate those who won't.

The push toward globalism is meant to break down the ideology of competing authority structures by prioritizing what is in the best interest of the human race.  The idea of what's best for the national interest is superseded by what's best for mankind.  The United Nations has served to promote such a mindset through a litany of global initiatives such as global warming, world trade this, and world health that, etc.  It's all designed to instill the perception that global authority transcends national authority.  Whether that's good or bad is not the issue.  The point is that it is conditioning people for the appearing of the man of sin, to accept him as the global authority as the above scripture indicates.

It has taken decades for this globalist mentality to gain traction.  It all began when the first seal was opened and the evil angel beast was released from the abyss per Revelation 17.  Best guess is that this took place sometime around 1900 when prophetically significant events began appearing.  There were two world wars that led to the creation of the U.N. and subsequently the state of Israel.  The Fatima UFO sighting in 1917 has been followed by a slew of others.  Knowledge began to increase rapidly and deception is now so prevalent that it's nearly impossible to tell satire from truth.  All of this is laying the groundwork and setting the stage for the man of sin to be revealed.

The final thing to happen before he exercises global authority is for the existing authority structures to come crashing down.  This will be accomplished during the time of war when nation rises against nation and kingdom against kingdom when seals two, three, and four are opened.  The man of sin will bring an end to this time of global anarchy through amazing supernatural signs and wonders.  That is when he will exercise global authority and wage war against those who do not submit to his authority and worship him.

I've been thinking about  globalism and the authority figure that will lead as well, for some time now.

I disagree with the first seal having already been opened, since early 1900. When the first seal does open, a deceiver will appear, a man of peace. He has a 'bow', but no arrows....meaning he doesn't have (use) weapons, rather he brings, or signs, or confirms a covenant. That hasn't happened yet.

This global 'leader' will be very smart, having answers to what plagues mankind. Or maybe what divides mankind.

Jesus tells us in Math 24 not to be deceived. The first seal deals with deception. 

So maybe this leader will smooth talk (deceive) people into believing he is the ......(Christ), perhaps he will meld the religions of the world into one;  perhaps he will appeal to the Muslims, convince them that he is the Mahdi that they've been waiting for; perhaps he will......???

I think that we do know that it will involve Israel. They will once again have their sacrifices.

Will the existing structure come crashing down? Maybe,........... or maybe they will just give their allegiance to the beast.

Hard to say. Too many variables. Too many 'what ifs".

Right now, we're in the theater, waiting for the opening act to commence.

I might be inclined to agree if the other "horse riders" weren't of a spiritual nature.

Yes, regardless of how the details work themselves out, there is no good reason why any of us should be ill-prepared for what's coming.  It has been foretold and we see the stage being set.  May the Holy Spirit stir the hearts of the lukewarm to acquire eye ointment in order to see what's coming.

While there is a move toward globalism, the above verse does not take place until the last 42 months of the 7 year, 70th week.   

Which in turn, means the 70th week has to start, by the person who becomes the Antichrist confirms the Mt. Sinai covenant for the 7 years -- as Moses required of the leaders of Israel in Deuteronomy 31:9-13, from the place of God's choosing, on a for 7 years cycle.

The Jews currently take the temple mount to be the place of God's choosing.    Which is why it hasn't been done in modern times.

The person who becomes the Antichrist, by being anointed the King of Israel, illegitimate, at the start of the seven years - is not the Antichrist any longer when he becomes the beast in Revelation 13.    There are two tracks the person is on in bible prophecy -- one is being the King of Israel (illegimate) for a while.    The other is being the king of the Roman Empire; the 7th king the little horn.   And then later, the 8th king the beast.

In Ezekiel 39, there is a gap which the 7 years will take place, following Gog/Magog.

Last Daze, my personal view is that the move toward globalism in the financial world of central bankers and imf (international monetary fund) is laying the groundwork as the apparatus for the 666 buy/sell system.    btw, the 666 is the number of his name.   And the mark is the mark of his name --  which being the mark of his name is not found in Revelation 13, but in Revelation 14. 

11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

You nailed it Last Daze. We see it everywhere; World Bank, World Health Organization, United Nations, World Trade Organization, on and on. The tearing down of borders globally and influx of immigrants ruining countries and economies. The reconciliation of the RCC to draw the "protesters" back to the 'one' true church and to make everyone globally equal by socialism and one church.

Is it a coincidence that President Trump, whom has put a bar in the cog of global control was placed in this position, at this point in biblical history for a purpose? We all know the global government and "son of perdition' will arise at the appointed time, but we seem to have a momentary temporary reprieve. 

As I see it, there's only one powerful country standing in the way, and that's because the 'Beastess' didn't win the presidency. And I might add; what are the 'four' things the enemy is hitting US the hardest with to force US into the scheme of things? Open borders, guns, nationalism and national patriotism. The way I see it, when Trump goes, so does the nation... I never thought or dreamed in my lifetime, I would see open rebellion in the streets to willfully pronounce the death of America and our hard earned God given rights and morals.
