Do you still get broken sleep because of the noise but will not use ear plugs. When you actually manage to get used to them, they are amazing and your sleep pattern gets super blessed though. It is so worth it especially for prudence for a night when you have to sleep. Let me tell you how to get used to them: • Get really tired one night and put them in thus you will just sleep and that is one night done. • Conquer the belief that they are not good by counteracting with the belief that the prudence for the long-term benefits are worth it. • I reckon roughly three or four nights getting used to them and you will think they are super. Oh by the way, if you have trouble hearing as you have blocked up lugholes, then gently warm up some pure virgin olive oil and put it in a very cleaned squeezy bottle with a thin end (like a syringe) and put it in your ears to soak for 2 minutes when you are laying on your side. Do this for a feq days and tidy up with a tissue each time obviously.

Last November we bought a white noise machine from Amazon that does the same thing, but it's small enough to sit on our nightstand. Hope that helps you! It sounds useful and I will keep it in mind. Have you heard of SAD lamps - Seasonal Affective Disorder lamps for people who get down in the Winter (mimics sunlight). Hopefully I have traded ideas. Bless you!

One from Marpac is available on Amazon and Bed, Bath, and Beyond is quite popular.

Also: earplugs come in handy when visiting a new church, especially when you find they've turned the music up to 15 on a scale of 10. God's not deaf, and I don't need tinnitus from the worship music. I've got some bright orange disposable ones I use for that.

You might try something like these examples, which you can get online if not locally: Mack's Soft Foam Earplugs @ Amazon.com Bright Orange "Foamies" @ Amazon.com The disposable foam earplugs are supposed to be rolled between your fingers, so they'll get pretty small. There are ladies versions too, that come in pink that might be smaller and work better for you.
Guest
I love and crave silence. I think life these days is far too noisy and most of the clamour is rubbish. Earplugs sound like a great thing. However, i would worry in case of emergency. A fire or someone breaking in. I hate the thought of being without one of my senses as an alarm system. I sleep well but do wake at the snallest noise. The other night my gog cried out in the night from the kitchen and i was diwn in a moment to key her out fir a wee. Unusual for her but sometimes she could be ill or warning me of a breakin.
