John - this is the book which is usually recommended as the starting point for Bible beginners.

Adstar sums up my thoughts on this too, though I love Ephesians particularly, for the confidence it brings in the all-sufficiency of the sacrificial work of our Saviour in the sight of God the Father, and of the surety of our position in Him.
