Guest 1sheep Posted October 15, 2018 Share Posted October 15, 2018 There is a chill in the air! Praise the Lord! Fall is one of my favorite seasons. I dont like heat although my joints would differ. Ha! I like to cook sometimes. What do you like to cook in the fall? I like to make a pot of chili with ground turkey meat or lean ground beef. I make some cornbread to go with it. That is from my Tx roots. I also love all kinds of squash. I like to make spaghetti squash and a homemade marinara sauce with lots of garlic from scratch! I like butternut squash too. I enjoy making pumpkin spice creamer for my coffee although last yr it was a disaster! Lol. I enjoy hot chocolate with marshmallows . Maybe I will make it from scratch this year. I enjoy homemade tamales this time of year too. I never wanted to learn the laborious task of making them but my sister makes awesome tamales. What do you like to make that comes from family traditions? It will be interesting to have people from all walks weigh in ! What do you like to make that just makes you, family and friends happy? The droughts have left lots of dead plants and trees . perfect kindling for the huge fires this year. Which fire was nearest you? I hope you are out of harms way? Are you in the northern region? It was deep dish piled high with fresh ingredients made by a sicilian family!!! I traveled 2 hrs round trip one time to get their pizza when I moved far west to surprise. The main problem with fires is that they refuse to thin out the veggie growth (those green meanies lol), so the fires have lots of fuel when they get going. Their solution for drought? Cut back on your watering or you get fined. Prayer? They are still California dreamin in LA LA land. lol. Well cutting back when there is less water makes sense. Nm and AZ do that too.
