Many people quote different verses of the Bible to claim we cannot know the Day and Hour of His Return.  But the Truth is we can know and the Bible doesn't teach that we can't know.  Many of the verses quoted to claim that we can't know - are misunderstood scriptures.   I know there will be those in here that will quote from Matthew 24.  We can deal with each scriptures and shed light on what they really say.

Just know YOU CAN KNOW.

Even if someone does know the day and hour, so what?  What good would it do for someone to know exactly when the storm is coming if their lives are built on the sand?  We are exhorted to be ready for His return.  Being ready and alert comes through lifestyle worship of God in spirit and truth, acting on the teachings of Jesus.

Would it change your mind if you knew that Noah knew the day the floods would come before they actually came - even if it comes from your Protestant Bible

Also, I'll share what other books I believe in as the content dictate but to just say which other books I believe in is a just further diversion off topics currently.

I was following your lead, so if this went off topic ... well, it is basically due to you not giving an answer to my question.

Since you don't want to communicate, I'll just leave you to your games.

Dan 12:9  And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
Dan 12:10  Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

So now lets take a look at some more verses:

Act 1:6  When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
Act 1:7  And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
Act 1:8  But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Notice the following from the verses above:

- The times and seasons are in the Father's Power

- The disciples are told they don't know the times or seasons that are put in the Father's Power.

- The disciples WILL get POWER

- When will the disciples get the Power? - when the Holy Ghost comes upon them.

You see if you read these verses correctly, it tells you that the disciples can know the times and the seasons that the Father has put in His Power WHEN they receive the Holy Ghost.

Greetings to all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ,

HWC2040, you failed to recognize that the words translated "power" in verses seven and eight are not the same. Power in verse 7 is translated from exousia which means authority, and power in verse 8 is translated from dunamis which refers to strength. They have different meanings. The disciples would receive power in the sense of strength, not in the sense of authority. You cannot make the conclusions that you have from this text.

Luk 17:26  And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
Luk 17:27  They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
Luk 17:28  Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
Luk 17:29  But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
Luk 17:30  Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

Glory be to Jesus Christ

Yes, your the first one to catch that Steve.  I was trying to show that if they rely on the test without further analysis then the point holds true on the face of it.  But your are very right in your catch and I sincerely appreciate you showing that.

But let's understand that we know that God gives his Power (authority) to His children.

So the meaning is still intended.

Regards.

Amen Bro! False prophets were to be stoned to death according to the OT, but we now live in the age of Grace and Forgiveness. There will always be date setters who will continue to insist that they have some sort of "special revelation" from God. The devil is extremely cunning, and there are many deceiving spirits that will plant lies and thoughts into those who live in disobedience to the precise wording of Scripture (cf. 1 Kings 22:22; Matt. 24:24; 1 Jn.4:1; ). The EXTREME DANGER of making prophecies about our Lord's return is that it can cause many to live in a state of disobedience because they feel as if they can sin all they want and to just wait until that moment made by false prophets to repent. Sad to say . . . this has led many down the dark and broad path to destruction and a Christless hell. It only takes ONE failed prophecy for someone to be deemed a false prophet. And ALL false prophecies originate from demonic spirits that deceive the hearts of the simple. The irony in all of this is that false prophets cite the passage (See Matthew 24:36) and taking it out of context without consulting the scripture as a WHOLE. And in the Olivet discourse, Jesus WARNED about false prophets (Matt. 24:24) who will "deceive" many -- even themselves (self-deception -- 2 Tim. 3:13). Consider the WHOLE counsel of God and "test" the spirits (1 Jn. 4:1-6). Jesus said that He will come "quickly (Grk. "tachy; "imminently, or at ANY moment -- Rev. 22:20). The thing about someone who is "deceived" is that the said person does NOT know that they are deceived -- and that's the dangerous part about it. I find no point in debating with "date setters" or engaging in a discussion with them unless they REPENT of their false revelations, or adding or taking away from God's precious truth. Such people condemn themselves and will stand before the God of TRUTH and the consequences will be eternal. These people need to be WARNED -- because such false revelations are in fact calling God a liar because the scriptures CLEARLY proves that NO ONE can know the day nor the hour. Someone who claims otherwise put themselves in a higher authority than Jesus, and even God Himself. Keep fighting the good fight of faith and use spiritual discernment, and compare what these people have to say against the truth of God's revealed word.

In Christ, *Pumpkin*
