Every single person in the universe is going to die with unconfessed sin - a LOT of it.

Let's say a Christian couple is driving down the road and are having a serious discussion about a serious problem.  Neither will truly listen to the other.  Let's say it gets out of hand. Let's say she screams at him  and says, "I HATE you!"  And he screams back and calls her a vulgar name.  They both begin thinking of how good life would be if the other was not in their life.

Neither are paying attention to the road and the husband runs a red light and they get killed by an 18-wheeler.

They were Christians.  They did not get to confess or repent of the argument, hatred, and vulgar speech.  Do they go to heaven or hell?

Yes, that's why it's all about having the correct heart attitude,

which is trying to obey Jesus' commandments, etc.

and repenting when one messes up and sins.

God is love, and because of His great mercy and grace,

He is happy to bless and forgive those who have the

right heart attitude towards Him, i.e. they are sorry

when they have sinned, and ask for forgiveness.

Betha, thanks for your clear thinking,

or was it via the Holy Spirit leading you into all truth?

The truth is that Jesus Christ died for past, present, future sins. Not many will believe, Jhn 3:3 and Rom 10:9. All there's left is to condemn us..

2 Jhn 1:2 because of the truth, which lives in us and will be with us forever:

Rom 8:33-39 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” 37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Jesus tells us what happens to those who work their way into the Kingdom like Betha and Zachary... ?

A Tree and its Fruit

(Matthew 12:33-37; Luke 6:43-45)

Matt 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

2 Peter 1:9 clearly states that Born-Again Christians were cleansed of their old (past) sins,

and they need to be careful in the future as the Holy Spirit attempts to progressively sanctify them.

(A multitude of NT verses state believers can fail in this process - and can fall away, etc. etc. etc.)

This verse simply agrees with several NT passages in the OP,

which state that BACs must be diligent to repent of their future sins.

And 1 John 1:7-9 provides the clearest formula for this.

I'm not open to arguing the topic with anyone.

That understandable your position is not Biblically defensible....

BACs who continue to practice habitual sin without repentance cannot help but have evil fruit,

and of course, will be cast into the lake of fire along with the unbelievers ...

unless they wake up and repent before they die!

This evil fruit includes those who fall away from the faith during the persecution of Christians!

And ...

This evil fruit includes those who submit to taking the dreaded mark of the beast,

which also is falling away from the faith ... and giving allegiance to Satan (see Rev 13 and 14).

Jesus paid for all sins, past, present and future at the cross.

It was only the blood of animals that temporarily atoned for past sins.  If Jesus' blood only covered past sins, then His blood was no better than the blood of bulls and goats.   If he only paid for past sins, then Jesus didn't do anything for us that wasn't already being done by the blood of animals and Jesus' death on the cross would be pointless and useless.

Jesus work on the cross is the final sin offering, meaning it was once for all.  There are no future sin offerings for future sins.  Jesus took care of it all.

Doctrine is established by taking precept upon precept line upon line rightly divided toward unity of truth.... many, many are not willing to do this work but instead will say yes then to the opposite say also yes never understanding or coming to the truth within the whole of Scripture

Eph 4:14-15

14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
KJV

2 Tim 3:5-7

5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
KJV

It is about essence not the manipulation of things God intends to wipe away from continued existence (1st created stuff and all works thereof >all works<]) for when this is gone what remains to continue! Only the faith that situated itself upon the promises of God and all hope therein...

then there are 'UNrepented sins' that lead to death if continued in.

There is nothing in the Bible that says that Christians can lose salvation over sin they have not repented of.

It is my understanding that God forgives all our sins when we become a christian even the future ones.    At this point we stand justified before God because of Christ's righteousness not our own.   But it is clear from the 1 John 1:9 that we are to confess our sins and repent of our sins if we sin.   John was writing to the Church.  In the upper room the disciples were clean but needed only their feet to be cleaned.   If I am wrong about this love to hear more.  Let's be kind one to another.

Yep. Thing is, when he died, ALL my sins were future sins.

“For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness,

and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his OLD sins.

Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call

and election sure, for IF you do these things you will never stumble;

for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting

kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” (2 Peter 1:9-11, NKJV)

“OLD sins” is also in the KJV, RSV, NLT, AMP

“having forgotten his purification from his FORMER sins.” (2 Peter 1:9, NASB)

“FORMER sins” is also in the ESV

forgetting that they have been cleansed from their PAST sins.(2 Peter 1:9, NIV)

“PAST sins” is also in the HCSB

Now for some confirming NT passages …

Paul wrote this to the Corinthian church concerning his words of rebuke

in 1 Corinthians that he had sent to them concerning some particular sin(s).

They really needed to be sorrowful and repent.

the pain (from his rebuke) caused you to repent and change your ways.

It was the kind of sorrow God wants His people to have, so you were not

harmed by us in any way.  For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience

leads us away from sin and results in salvation.worldly sorrow, which lacks

repentance, results in spiritual (eternal) death.” (2 Corinthians 7:8-10, NLT)

“Yes, I am afraid that when I come again, God will humble me in your presence.

And I will be grieved because many of you have not given up your old sins.

You have not repented of your impurity, sexual immorality,

and eagerness for lustful pleasure.(2 Corinthians 12:21, NLT)

Peter is warning believers about God’s destruction of all ungodly and unholy people:

“Then he used the water to destroy the ancient (ungodly) world … the day of judgment,

when ungodly people will be destroyed. … He is being patient for your sake. He does not

want anyone to be destroyed (perish spiritually), but (he) wants everyone to repent.

… what holy and godly lives you should live … (you) make every effort to be found living

peaceful lives that are pure and blameless in his sight.  … I am warning you ahead of time

… Be on guard so that you will not be carried away by the errors …” (2 Peter 3:6-17, NLT)

John gives the condition for the Lord to forgive believers’ present sins:

“But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins

and to cleanse us from all wickedness (unrighteousness).(1 John 1:9, NLT)

This is an extremely important verse … all men need to be repeatedly purified from all

unrighteousness – from all their sins … We must confess our sins and turn from them

… We must also confess them with our actions … (John) is talking here about repentance

… we must hate our sins and turn from them. This is true repentance.

(The Applied New Testament Commentary; Dr. Thomas Hale)

2 verses later, John reminds believers to ask Jesus to plead our case before the Father:

“My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin.

But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before

the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous.(1 John 2:1, NLT)

Believers are responsible for repenting of their sins after they are born-again!

They have been given the Holy Spirit, a totally new nature, and God’s word.

So, they have been enabled to be victorious overcomers over sin, the world,

and the devil. They have no excuse for failing to do this.

If you are going to propose such nuances, you're going to need to go to the Koine Greek and Hebrew, not a flawed English translation - which they all are.

I highly recommend Dr. Michael Heiser and especially his "Naked Bible" podcasts on this and other tricky issues. It will drive home the freedom message with some heavy old testament perspective as well.
