As we are just exiting the annual time period of Halloween and the Day of the Dead (which appears to be growing in popularity among non Hispanics), I would be interested in the reasoning that Christians have that allow them to conscientiously participate in these activities.

Thanks!

we just had a good long thread about Halloween, you might want to go through that.   It's doubtful that you will get people to type all that again so quickly.

Gets to both sides and interface between friends about each one

I try to explain things in the other Halloween post and was met with comments that I was blind, ignoring God's word, giving into the ways of the world, and one person even called me ignorant.  But I will give my reply and ignore all judgmental comments against me.  The simple answer is, is that I feel no conviction against partaking in it. If God dose not want me to do something. He lets me know.  God has convicted me about TV shows and music I like. So if God did not want me to take my kid trick or treating, I am sure he would let me know. And that is all we ever do on Halloween. Is trick or treat.  We don't talk to the dead or worship them. We don't dance naked around a fire pit.  All we ever do is dress up as something silly and get candy from people.  As for dressing as something evil. Most kids dress up as superheroes, and  this year I saw a little girl dressed as a can of soda pop.  Anyway, as I stated in the last thread about this. I am in no way telling anyone else what they should do concerning Halloween. If you feel in your heart that it is something you should not partake in, then don't do it. Do as the Lord directs you to do. I guess that is about it. Thank You.

My only objections to Halloween are the rampant commercialism and the deplorables who poison kid's candy. I avoid it merely out of not having kids and also not wishing to stuff the pockets of greedy corporations.

I'd back up Lady Kay's statement. So long as someone isn't doing any witchcraft or busting in people's windows to kill their black cats, it's just folks having fun.
