I came across a couple of really good videos done by the Jefferson Country Conservation Folks in Colorado about coyotes.  Perfect for those in urban areas that deal with these critters.  A must see for anyone, and especially for the OP of this thread.  They might help you get a better handle on the coyote thing.

A three year old child was attacked by a coyote about a week ago in a Los Angeles area park.    It happened in the daytime, the coyote came out of the shadows to attack.   The police did shoot the coyote.

I did tell my friend about the bear spray and she ordered it.

I never saw a coyote where I am but 10 yrs ago a fox ran across and through my headlights. At least I think it was a fox I only saw it's outline. But this is unusual, a fox, and somewhat strange because I live on an island and I never saw 1 before.

That's interesting... didn't know you lived on an island either.   I think foxes are pretty.
