I remember when i used to play them, when i was killing people in games i used to get "this is wrong" feeling inside me. Jesus told me that this was actually the Holy Spirit telling me "this is sin, stop doing it". Thank Jesus i stopped willfully sinning. Do you want to know if any other genre of video games are sin? Ask Jesus, He will tell you. His sheep listen to His voice. (John 10:27) Edited November 12, 2018 by mynickname

The Bible says pursue peace. I don't think it is a sin but can be. If you just enjoy kill the people in the games then it is a sin. But if it's just part of the game then it's not sin to me. But if your not sure don't play. I think games take up too much time.

Stimulates very similar to drugs and porn and is easy to get addicted to the high for most habitual players. And then there are those people who graduate to not being able to separate the game from reality to peek up their addiction. Some churches and fellow Christians avoid watching television, radio, music, movies, board games, etc. for the same reasons.

And for the most part, I agree. Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. If the game is for the purpose of murder, I do agree. I have mixed feelings with war type games tho.

Everything you experience is assimilated into your mind as if it is real. Conscious reasoning is irrelevant and ineffectual and is not the source of your moral choice, its main purpose is to coordinate skeletal muscles. All your ethics and preferences for solutions are coming from the subconscious part of your being. When you pickup a hot pan the conscious mind tell you to drop it immediately, the subconscious tells you to wait until it you reach the table because you worked so hard at preparing this meal. Do you really want to pollute the source of your inspiration and corrupt your dreams?

I've not heard that the subconscious mind can not distinguish between reality and fiction, or that ethics and preferences for solutions are coming from the subconscious. Did that belief come from psychology studies or such? If so, references would be appreciated for more study on that.

I did not study to earn my degree, but to help manage my wife of who has Dissociative Identity Disorder. I use key words that will lead you to the information in a Google search. Modern psychology aligns with biblical wisdom.
