I think all sins fall under those three categories. I always have. It's also how he tempted Eve. It's the devil's main three weapons. Why? Because those are the three things that caused him to fall. Pride of Life: Eve saw that the fruit would make her wise [like God knowing good from evil]. Jesus was tempted to jump from the Temple pridefully "proving" he was God's Son with all authority. The devil wanted to be God proclaimed it to be so. [From Isaiah 14:12 = "I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit on the mount of assembly on the heights of Zaphon; I will ascend to the tops of the clouds, I will make myself like the Most High." Lust of the Eye Eve saw the fruit was pleasing to the eye. Jesus was tempted to have all the splendor of the all the kingdoms of the world. The devil saw his own beauty and became evil. [From Ezekiel 28:11-19 = "You were the anointed Cherub......Your heart was proud because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor." Lust of the Flesh Eve saw the fruit was good for food. Jesus was tempted to turn rocks to bread for his hungry stomach.
