CHRISTMAS

Christmas is an invention of Satan and subtly promoted by his church, the Church of Rome.

When you say "merry Christmas" whether you know it or not, you are saying "merry death of Christ."

The Roman Church took the "mass of Christ" ... reversed it to Christ-mass ... removed one "s" and the world and most of Christianity were deceived.

Nothing wrong with celebrating the birth of our Lord Jesus (the day or month being unknown) but I would like to see Protestantism call the day ... Jesus' Birth or something similar.

Mathew 24:24 said if it were possible even the very elect would be deceived ... were you deceived?

Until recently, I know that I was.

Just look at the positive sides of Christmas, you can spread Gospel of Jesus to people with its celebration.

Yes ... but the truth is important also.

There is an academic that claims Jesus birth is in the spring. Would you like the link to the paper?

Thanks, but no for the offer Diaste.

The intent of my concern is that believers would understand what they are saying and how Rome has subtly accomplished the deception.

Shalom, Diaste.

Not the spring, but the fall. His birthday, as the Second Adam, is at the time of Ro'sh haShannah, the "Head of the Year," as was the First Adam. The Feast of Tabernacles (or "Booths"), also known as "Sukkot," was when God "tabernacled" with men. It's entirely possible that the days of Sukkot reflect the time when Yeshua` was first born up to the time when He was circumcized.

Christmas, or rather Chanukah, is the Festival of Lights, and I believe it was an anniversary of His conception, when Yeshua` became the "Light of the World," the "Shamash" or the candle by which all the other candles are lit during the eight days of Chanukah.

The shepherds wouldn't be in the field during the winter nights.

No one knows WHEN Yeshua` was actually born; however, December 25th is the day that was decided by most when to celebrate His birth. It just doesn't matter as long as people remember to celebrate His birth at Christmas. And, yes, Christmas is short for "Christ-mass," but that does NOT mean His "death!" A "mass" was (and still is) a time when the entire congregation comes together (en masse) to pray for God's blessings and His watch-care. Sure, that's a RCC thing (although adopted by other denominations that spun off from the RCC). However, it would be better if many people would come to believe that Christmas is the celebration of the Messiah's birth than all the hoopla about Santa Claus and Rudolph and Frosty the Snowman and all the commercialism that's associated with the holiday, don't you think?

The paper I read places Jesus birth in the spring based the reign of Herod and the time of his death, and two significant census by Quirnius. Highly compelling. Not to mention scripture says Jesus was born at the time of the year when lambs were born.

sheep farming family here, for generations - lambs can be born at any time of the  year. The timing of the males being put into the field depends on the usual  favourable weather conditions in an area for the country we are talking about.

And this is true for any animal breeding as birth depends on conception and gestation. In controlled environments it would not matter, but as you said, "depends on the usual  favourable weather conditions in an area for the country we are talking about." Spring would be desirable in uncontrolled environments. Winter has passed, the newborn is safe from harsh weather and has time to grow stronger before the next winter. So spring. Perhaps late April to mid May. This is the time one academic places the birth of Jesus.

From my findings, the first known use of the word Christes-Maess was in England, 1038.

The Puritans passed an anti - Christmas law in 1659 and I believe it was opposed in Scotland at one time also.
