Not the spring, but the fall. His birthday, as the Second Adam, is at the time of Ro'sh haShannah, the "Head of the Year," as was the First Adam. The Feast of Tabernacles (or "Booths"), also known as "Sukkot," was when God "tabernacled" with men. It's entirely possible that the days of Sukkot reflect the time when Yeshua` was first born up to the time when He was circumcized.

You first sentence is correct: Jesus was born on Rosh Hashanah, specifically, the one falling on Sept. 24-25, 7 BC. Shortly after the time of the Autumn Equinox, which was about 5:30 PM local time in Bethlehem on the 25th.
