Ive barely read any of the bible and i want to start. What do you suggest? Read John's gospel, fourth New Testament book, a few minutes daily, unless you "feel like more", but pray to Jesus Christ to understand what you're reading, and to follow it. Is it not found in the account of Philip ( in the Book of Acts ) with the command by God to go- and to find the Ethiopian of some esteem who was reading Isaiah without understanding? And did not Phillip then use the Isaiah account ( from Isaiah 53) to declare and reveal, at the will of God the Holy Spirit, Jesus to this man? If so then how can anyone say you must or should read this book or that one first? God uses what God will use. Pray, ask God in prayer what will you have me to read? How will you help me to understand? Then think, read, and be praying about what is being read. Don't be afraid to ask  God to send to you a mentor, a disciple to help. God does not make every believer reinvent the wheel there is much that is excellent in the way of council, creed, confession, and catechisms. As for myself I urge all that no one ever separate the old testament from the new testament thinking either stands by itself. The word of God is one reveal of Jesus to an unsaved world. It is to be shared, so that many will be found mature in the Lord at His return.
