(Worthy News) - The Supreme Court on Monday declined to review whether states can block Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers from their Medicaid programs, passing on a pair of cases that would have served as the first major abortion test for the court’s new conservative majority.

Chief Justice John Roberts and the newest justice, Brett Kavanaugh, joined the court's four liberal jurists in turning away a pair of petitions from Kansas and Louisiana seeking the ban on abortion providers.

Justice Clarence Thomas, joined by Justices Samuel Alito and Neil Gorsuch, dissented. It takes four justices to agree to accept a case. [ Source: Politico (Read More...) ]

Just so you know ... this case should have been heard at least!  Only 4 Justices were needed ... we couldn't even get a hearing!  Surreal!

I'm not really surprised, I don't expect the murder of the innocent will be stopped until Jesus returns on the clouds.

Not a surprise. Hes nowhere near as conservative as many made him out to be. Hes better then the alternative choices...but not a lot.

This is not the first time he has voted with the liberals. I don't see how he is better than the alternatives.

Because he does vote with the conservatives on occasion. He is a moderate, which in my mind makes him far better then a full bore liberal, but on the same note it also means there are a lot better candidates out there.

Roe V. Wade is settled law and they cannot just overturn a previous ruling, unless one can prove some sort of serious legal error in the prior ruling. In order to change things you have to change the law by electing leaders who will do so.

A better way to prevent abortion is the create an environment where women don't think they need to have one in the first place.

Actually i think Pinkbelt makes a valid point, and davida just drove it home. My wife volunteers at a local crisis pregnancy center, whose goal is to help young mothers who are pregnant and dont know what to do And you have no idea how many of these young mothers have absolutely no support system in place, absolutely no idea what options are available to them, and many are from Christian homes and are already feeling ashamed of their mistake but are afraid to let those close to them know out of fear of their judgement.

Some do know...we have literally had young pregnant women come in who were kicked out of their home by their "Christian" parents because of their mistake.

We live in a world where  women arnt taught to abstain, and a judgemental church that instead of helping them, turn thems away, often leaving these young mothers to be alone, lost with no idea what to do. In that position, abortion often is the easy way out, indeed from their perspective often is the only way out that they can see.

Roe Vs wade could easily be overturned, but its going to require a heart change of the nation for that to happen.
