I believe Jacob got a double portion, since Esau sold his rights as the oldest son to Jacob, so I think Jacob got 2/3 and Esau got 1/3.

Jacob went to Haran's house empty handed. He returned to Canaan with Haran's wealth which he earned (with the Lord's help).

Esau had wealth when Jacob returned.

Are you sure?

Isaac didn't die until Genesis 35.

By that time, the two sons - Jacob and Esau - were grown men with many wives, adult children, and with large families.  And wealth/flocks of their own.

Jacob and Esau had also reunited [so to speak] and they both buried Isaac when he did die.

In chapter 35, God tells Jacob that he will inherit the land of Abraham and Isaac.

Esau despised his birthright [which isn't the same thing as a blessing] and Jacob lied to his father 5 times when he stole it.  They both received a blessing, Esau's being much smaller.

No one knows that's just how, estates were divided then.

Going by what the Bible indicates (without specifically stating it) Esau got the inheritance Jacob tried to swindle him out of after all.

So you believe Esau acquired wealth on his own (as did Jacob)?

Yes, Genesis 32 says that when Jacob to close to his brother's land {Seir = Edom} that he sent a message to him to find out if things were favorable between them or not.

Israel [the nation] ended with the Mediterranean Sea making it's western border and the Jordan River, Dead Sea, and Sea of Galilee one on top of each other making the eastern border.

Mediterranean Sea...……….Israel...……….Sea of Galilee, Jordan River, Dead Sea [connecting north to south]

Seir/Edom is south of the Dead Sea and to the east of it.

Esau apparently left his mother and father, too, and made his own way.
