Can someone please help me with the statement from the KJV   him that pisseth against the wall means?

I just don't believe that God would be using that particular word and just doesn't flow with the KJV writing style....

There are at least 6 passages with this statement, that I don't find in other translations.

1 Samuel 25:22 So and more also do God unto the enemies of David, if I leave of all that pertain to him by the morning light any that pisseth against the wall. (KJV)

1 Samuel 25:34 For in very deed, as the LORD God of Israel liveth, which hath kept me back from hurting thee, except thou hadst hasted and come to meet me, surely there had not been left unto Nabal by the morning light any that pisseth against the wall. (KJV)

1 Kings 14:10 Therefore, behold, I will bring evil upon the house of Jeroboam, and will cut off from Jeroboam him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel, and will take away the remnant of the house of Jeroboam, as a man taketh away dung, till it be all gone. (KJV)

1 Kings 16:11 And it came to pass, when he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, that he slew all the house of Baasha: he left him not one that pisseth against a wall, neither of his kinsfolk, nor of his friends. (KJV)

1 Kings 21:21 Behold, I will bring evil upon thee, and will take away thy posterity, and will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel, (KJV)

2 Kings 9:8 For the whole house of Ahab shall perish: and I will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel: (KJV)

Thanks for answering that for me George, but then why not just say "male"? instead of using the word pisseth? or the phrase "pisseth against the wall"?  it just seems....sooo....vulgar?

I read another site .. where it speaks that its understood as a boy ... there's some kind of colloquialism being conveyed in the 1611 that carried over.

I saw that site too...I guess that word was used back in the day but we modern folks just made it a "vulgar" word.  :P

Quote

In short, God is describing that He considers sinful men as abhorrent as human waste and do consider 1 Kings 4:10 that Jeroboam is somewhat compared to smelly dung due to his wickedness.

The Gotquestions link explains it really well. It's a derogatory expression (as the context of these statements makes clear) that the KJV has translated literally, but newer translations tone it down considerably.
