Yes, that's a great idea. I hate throwing them away as well. Although I don't get as many as I used to. I don't think as many people send Christmas cards now like they did in the past.

Our Christmas decorations are still up. It always seems sad when it's time to take them down. Here in Scotland, the 2nd January is also a holiday.

Scotland must be beautiful Rebecca. I hope you enjoyed your holiday on Jan 2nd. That's nice to have an extra day to celebrate.

We grew up with the day after Christmas being a holiday. It is an adjustment to having only Christmas day as a holiday.

Good to hear from you.

I throw mine away. I hate clutter.

And we all know how quickly clutter collects :). Thanks for sharing Pepper.

What I did wonder, is what do you do with your Christmas cards?

@Annette :) I've heard it said, "They don't have a sentimental bone in their body." Well- with me...just the opposite. It seems every bone in my body IS sentimental! lol So I save them all.

I have bought expanding files with pockets (the ones that open up like accordions) to store them in. Then, you can file by the giver of the cards in individually labeled pockets, if you wish. Or by the year. It's a very helpful way to organize for 'nostalgiacs' :D like myself.

It also helps preserve the memory of loved ones who have passed on (or in the case of my mom's severe brain injury are no longer able to communicate verbally, send out cards, etc.) Those cards have now become to me priceless tokens of wonderful days gone by.

@Annette P.S.  Thanks for this thread. Good topic, as usual.

In response to your pastor and @ladypeartree :

Those alternate ways to use Christmas cards are wonderful perspectives! Unique and inspirational. I :8:love them. Thanks for sharing.
