(Worthy News) - Support for President Trump's wall along the U.S.-Mexico border is at an all-time high weeks into a partial government shutdown that began over a border security dispute for funding.

According to the results of an ABC News and Washington Post poll released Sunday morning, 42 percent of Americans support a wall. That is up from 34 percent one year ago and a previous high of 37 percent in 2017.

With 54 percent, the majority of Americans polled still oppose building a border wall. However, that opposition is shrinking, as 63 percent opposed the wall a year ago and the previous low was 60 percent two years ago. [ Source: Washington Examiner (Read More...) ]

he won a national election with poll numbers like that.....       most of us have stopped trusting the validly of most polls these days.   Main think I learned in college Statistic classes was that you can prove just about anything with numbers.....    and depending on what your agenda is, either side of a question.

Still dose not make it a good ideal.  The upkeep for such a wall(if it can be build) is going to be  $150 million a year.  Then you still have people coming in legally,  they just stay here longer then what they are suppose to. There are better more efficient  ways to have a secured border.   Something to consider I say.

The problem is that it's all peanuts to the budget.  It's not even the cost of 1 day of interest payments.  Just the interest payment for today --- is greater than the entire wall!

Isn't it also true that what he has saved the government over the direction under Obama, not necessarily a positive but less of a deficit, more than makes up for the wall?

Actually the deficit is still in excess of 750 billion dollars.  The issue of big govt spending is a problem with both parties.

I heard that the deficit went up. But I will need to re-check the data on that to be sure.
