The Bible explicitly warns of worldwide deception in last days. People will turn away from the truth and be deceived by doctrines and beliefs influenced by satan and demons.

Psychiatry/Mental health services are operated by groupthink and allegiance to a book called the DSM5 which has no scientific basis, but an ideological set of beliefs voted on by a group of psychiatrists. Although they are fallible humans. These people are deceived and caught in an ideological delusion. They suffer from poor insight and judgment as professionals. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.

I'm grateful for good doctors and good meds.  Under psychiatry and mental health services, yes, there can be quacks.  But the same can be said for any medical field.

I know lots of people who have been helped by God using human services.

There are some nice well meaning doctors but it's still a professional delusion. It's not diagnostic and therefore most of them have poor insight.

Well I disagree. With the second part. Not with the first part.

Let's say I have a mental illness. What's the Godly way to handle it, in your words?

The Holy Bible Not the DSM

Can you explain your issues with the DSM?

It’s not scientific and never can be. It fails as a science because no rational model exists..

Are you saying they're misrepresenting cases of demon possession?

In some cases yes

23 minutes ago, naominash said:

I believe that does happen sometimes.

It does. That and chemical reactions due to the drugs. Especially abrupt withdraw which can cause a host of side effects.

Or are you saying we shouldn't go by any man-made philosophy over the Bible?

I believe Christians should be more cautious and question man made ideologies...

Do you believe than any medical intervention for mental illnesses, including therapy, is wrong?

I believe there are triggers for depression and therapy can help
