Yet the greatest most wise book of all is - The Bible. Oh how i wish the hordes of sadly misguided lost souls would read it. The book of life, comfort, hope, guidance. It's the only way to eternal life, no matter what hardships, temptations the world may throw at us. God expects us to learn and grow in His Word as he expected of the Israelites in Deut 8:3 and repeated by Christ in "It is written,' Man shall not live by bread alone,but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.'"(KJV.Mt 4:4). Sure there may be some very useful DIY books and ideas out there on how to come out tops, but they normally prove to be nothing but hot air if one's achievements are not to the glory of God, which is what Christianity is all about. Just like a stray deer or buck are easy pickings for a wolf or lion; so the DIY specialist an easy takeaway meal for Satan, I would imagine. But only through prayer and reading the Bible can wisdom come. It just is the book of life. The guidance is the best. No other book can compare. As to a single book that I will consider to be a self help encouragement with much direct bible reference within it is the one I have been so struck by, and comes into mind often as I read the immediate personal plight and mindset of some asking for help, and even on this very message board.
