The words of Jesus about taking the tree ot of ones eye, before trying to remove sawdust from another persons eye applies to us all.

Shalom,

Gossip or sharing in the name of "being concerned" or "so that we can pray for them" is cover for old habits. That premeditated excuse as to why you are gossiping is far worse than simply gossiping.

It didn't used to bother me so much, I would just ignore it. But now I find gossip abhorrent.  It almost always seems to have its roots in judgment or self-righteousness.

Psychologically speaking, we are all aware of the "Alpha" tussle in groups to reach the top of the pack. However, the far bigger struggle in group dynamics is to stay away from the bottom of the pack - and that's where berating and disparaging comments on others begins - just as long as they can stay away from the bottom. Bad, old, fleshly habit.

There will be no gossiping or backbiting in the New World. Praise Yahweh!

Love & Shalom
